| There are studies showing that often gloves are less sanitary than bare hands. Hands you likely will wash if you touch raw meat juice but with gloves you'll just keep on going... |
Right. That’s why we ask them to change their gloves before they make our order, PP. That’s the whole point. There’s no way I’m trusting that some teen has adequately washed their bare hands enough to touch my food. [OP] |
| I tell the people at subway to change their gloves. I say it nicely. They do. It’s no big deal. |
Do you worry about the detriment to the environment of all that latex waste? To me that's far more worrisome than the extremely unlikely chance of getting food poisoning. But I guess you only care about yourself. |
so. true.

| What do you think employees in the back of restaurants do? |
| I don’t give any of that stuff a second thought. Gloves, no gloves…I don’t care. |
+1 I think our bodies are equipped to deal with many things. While I think regular handwashing is important, I do not think its a big deal to go from one sandwich to the next. |
That's the main reason I no longer eat out. And those nasty long fingernails ? HELL NO. |
How silly. |
We can’t control everything; I can’t worry too much about what I can’t see. If I see it, though—such as ratty, stained gloves—I can’t ignore it. [OP] |
| I have a coworker who used to be in catering. He said no one would eat out if they saw the kitchens...but if a fresh glove makes you feel safe ask away. |
Everyone here recognizes that nasty stuff happens out of our view. That doesn’t mean we’re going to not speak up when it happens in front of us or when we have some control over it. |
