Do you care if the people touching your food don’t regularly change their gloves?

Anonymous
No. I don’t wear gloves when I cook. Seems idiotic to expect more from McDonalds employees.

Yes, I saw a woman in a bakery touch everything wearing her gloves. I asked her to put a new pair on before slicing my bread. She refused.

She seriously refused?? Wow. I’ve never seen that, and I ask all the time.

But…..that’s different. You know where your own hands have been, PP.

However, no one else around me ever does.

To me, it’s really disgusting. Sometimes their worn gloves are really ratty, stained, or I watch the person touch their visor, shirt, or pants before serving me.

I can’t tell if I’m an oddball….or if everyone is. 😅😅

No, you're not an oddball. I have the same feelings. I haven't acted on them, though, and that needs to change.

Q: how do you feel when you see a cook or chef on tv touching food with bare hands but wearing rings?

It totally grosses me out and causes me to lose a lot of respect for that person.

I hate that so much! It makes me sick. They’re wearing jewelry or they have long fingernails. UGH.

Ooohhh, the WORST!!!!!

Agree. I also see it at Starbucks a lot. They touch their faces or hair or ears (or, even worse, the scanner or money) and then instead of grabbing your cup by the body of the cup they palm the top of the cup and the fingers are right where you will be sipping from. Totally gross. I always use hand sanitizer then on the lid and sipping part of the cup.

Aw, man…..I am so damn glad I’m not the only one who notices these things.

It grosses me out a little (also when they re-use a knife to cut sandwiches), but life is too short to care.

It could be shorter if you get norovirus.

Welcome, friend. This is a safe space.

I wish the grocery store deli people would change out gloves more or at least use their knuckle to enter weights/code on the scale.

Nope. I wish they'd just upfront use sanitizer on bear hands.

Bare Hands!!

No, I don't notice or care. I've eaten food all over the world often prepared with questionable hygiene and have gotten sick once.
