Mine too. I also agree with it being an elective only, especially for athletes. If you can prove you are engaging in a sport outside of school or on a team at school, you should not have to do it. That can be anything from football to Tai Kwon Do. |
| My kid is doing 9th pe online and it’s all wild. It’s all about fan participation. Literally every question. How can fans motivate and demotivate the players. What a waste of time. |
What are the dates for rising 9th grade PE over the summer? Is it scheduled or flexible? DC has a big trip planned towards the beginning of July next year - would that interfere with doing PE over the summer? |
Yes it is. All the other classes are every other day, but PE is daily. Or maybe just one of the periods is daily and it happens to be PE for some. |
It’s a set schedule and you need to go in towards the end to take the CPR test in-person. Same for 10th grade and the final driver’s ed exam. You meet every day for the month at a certain time- cameras must be on for the live hour class- and then you have assignments daily, including workout requirements. I’ve heard of people doing it on vacation, but I’m sure there are headaches associated with that. |
Thanks for this info. If DC is unable to make the schedule work over the summer, and takes regular PE in 9th grade, is there room in the schedule for both a foreign language and music (strings or band) as well as PE and the core classes? |
Yes. You get 2 electives. His electives would be Language and music. PE is considered a core class in 9th. |
It's generally right after school gets out and lasts for 4 weeks. There is a live/synchronous component to it every day (1 hour, generally). |
| Yeah it’s a set time, with a cameras on component, homework, and 1 hour a weekday workout with specific heart rate zone to meet. |
