We put four kids through college. I could not even guess what any of the GPAs were. I never asked about their grades or their classes any more than they asked me how my job was going.

I didn’t ask my DC to sign a FERPA. I wanted them to freely share their grades with me when they felt like it or when they needed the support or advice or encouragement. Which they do, and I’m glad that they do.
