It’s not the same as alcohol. No matter how much an adult drinks around a child, the child won’t get drunk unless they also drink.

Also, your response to the question did not address the question. According to the earlier poster’s classification scheme, would you consider exposing a child (who by definition is still developing) to secondhand marijuana smoke as high/low incidence and high/low consequence? Keep in mind, not everyone has a backyard, or will limit their smoking to one, even if they do.

Nobody cares. It is extremely common for drunks to beat their kids. It is extremely uncommon for people high on cannabis to beat anyone. REMINDER: There is an exception to every rule.

They may not be beating their child, but are they providing adequate care and supervision? Moreover, you still haven’t addressed the brain damage and other health consequences they’re inflicting on their child by exposing them to secondhand smoke while they’re still developing.

DP. Are drunks providing adequate care and supervision? I'm with the PP. I've met people who were angry, violent drunks. I've never met an angry, violent pothead.

The question isn’t if drunks make good parents, or even if they are worse than marijuana users. The fact that one group of parents is generally worse than another doesn’t make the lesser evil acceptable. However, none of this addresses my original question:

According to the earlier poster’s classification scheme, would you consider exposing a child (who by definition is still developing) to secondhand marijuana smoke as high/low incidence and high/low consequence?

I would classify it as no basis on which to be making marijuana policy, and as a strong argument for substantial investment in other kinds of family and mental health supports.

I notice the pot loving users here are relatively chill. The seething prohibitionists are OK with cigarette smoke apparently. Havent seen a thread about cigar smokers. Never twisting their panties about tobacco but let it be cannabis… LOL!

Edibles are fine to use if you need a smoke free environment for kids. Stop the excuses, we won and cannabis is here to stay.

They are chill because they have no motivation to do anything, including post.

I have. When the paranoia kicks in. It's ugly.

Spend a day in an emergency room and you will see plenty of angry violent people with nothing but pot in their system.

Long time user here and I don't think it's unreasonable for us to figure out ways to be respectful of our neighbors. No smoking indoors is kind of no brainer just as cigarette smoke would be. If I want to blaze up I find a time and a place where it's appropriate to do so without bothering others (too much

And 100 times as many angry violent people with alcohol in their systems.

Yeah, habitual pot users are 5x more likely to have psychosis. So it's not all a Bob Marley love fest.

we picked up some gummies (Curio) from a store in Bethesda. Despite allegedly being 10 mg of THC per gummy, they aren't as good as the 5 mg gummies (Mindy's) we picked up on vacation in Massachusetts last year.

Given how NY thought they had to develop their legal regime from scratch, it's not surprising Maryland did as well. There are plenty of states that have not made a hash of legalization - incoming jurisdictions should evaluate those lessons learned.
