Spotify dropped Harry and Markle

Goop's the OG who has pretty much cornered that market. Really don't see how M can break in at this point.

I recall an interview with Harry when he was in the British armed forces. He said they had to keep him away from the fighting because he would be a target and that wouldn't be fair to his fellow soldiers. So he never really took on any risks during his military stint. I can't see him joining the military here in the US where they don't value his life far above the other personnel.

Yes, he is as pampered as can be. I think she has more of a work ethic than he does, but I also think she loves the high life and spends money like water.

Once she had a taste of the royal lifestyle, she tried to duplicate it in the US, hence the need to buy an opulent home with full staffing, wear haute couture, and stay at luxury accommodations when traveling. Their request for a huge discount at the Carlyle in NYC was the latest example of how their royal tastes are not in keeping with their now-limited means. I think Harry would be fine with a more modest lifestyle in less costly locale as long as they were safe and their kids had an excellent education.

I always thought she should just bring back the Tig and be an influencer. She has a lot of super fans that will follow her and a lot of people that will be curious about her content. Otherwise, yeah, no one cares about the complaining she didn’t know the words to the British national anthem.

No doubt there. She has an unobjectively loyal cult following.

I haven't yet read Harry's book, but I used an Audible credit to purchase it. I started listening to it. However, I just really am a fan of Wills and Kate. I HATE this storyline in the Royal family. I was in 6th grade watching the Princess Di wedding. I remember when she died. I remember Will and Kate's wedding. The two brothers and Kate were getting along fine until M came into the picture. I'm not blaming her. I just think that she should have known what she was getting herself into, that yes, she would have to curtsy to the Queen. And the Queen, may she RIP, sounded like a nice lady to M.

Oh I totally think she knew what she was getting herself into. I just think her ego told her that she could change it all to suit herself. When she realized that there were long traditions that weren't going to be changed just for her (whether you agree with those traditions or not), she started her publicity tour of grievances and slights. It's not a complicated thing...either you're a working member of the family or you're not. If you choose to not be and to move halfway around the world, then you don't get the security and the accolades and the accommodations that you would have if you stayed on as a working royal. I used to really like Harry because I thought he seemed like a normal guy but now he just seems like her umbrella holder.

Not enough of a following to make The Tig enough of a success to support them.

The only possibility big payout they have left is for Harry to sign a movie deal for “Spare.” Otherwise, the spigot is running dry on future earnings. Hopefully for them, Netflix doesn’t cut ties before that payout.

They’ve made enough to last a lifetime for most people, but I predict they will run through their money within a decade. I suspect Charles won’t be willing to give any handouts as long as Meghan is still in the picture.

It’s the security costs that will wind up eating them alive.

If their media deals don’t pan out they will turn to merchandising, mark my words. Megs the former calligrapher will start a line of stationary and kitchen/home goods. All “ethically sourced,” promoting women’s labor, and costing a fortune of course. That’s what they always wanted to do with the Sussex Royal brand anyway, before the queen revoked it.

Dumb and dumber running full speed into reality.

I personally learned a lot by watching H&M. The Crown is it's own entity, even before family. Preserving the institution of The Crown is the priority.

H&M may have been concerned about their own personal security and safety. There were most likely death threats. And I believe they were ill advised to go on their "grievances and privacy tour."

They should have just slowly made the transition to a quiet American life. They could have created a unique brand for themselves.

They could do anything at this point. They could sell goat milk soap and body lotion. LoL.

To the PP above. I’m pretty sure that King Charles sells stuff branded with the Highgrove name I believe. Of course, that name recognition is the result of decades promoting sustainability. Kind of ironic that a pampered royal living in luxury can do this but it works somehow.

+1 They were so smug about getting revenge on those who 'wronged' them and raced to cash in on what amounted to tabloid fodder. But once the lucrative tabloid stuff was exhausted (ands there was so little 'there' there--reluctance to share lip gloss srsly?) no one cares. It was incredibly bad strategy. The ego in the poor decisions is mind-boggling.

Don't care. I still believe them 100%. And I don't care whether you approve or not.

H&M appeal to a niche audience. It's not enough to generate significant revenue from that narrow sliver. They're starting to figure that out so I joke they have a better plan.

Highgrove has had its own shop showcasing items from the estate for many years now. But the monies probably go back into the duchy.
