Identical to my 14 DS. He’s a mama’s boy. |
That's creepy! |

Yes.
DD26, DD22 and Ds18 - all kiss and hug. My kids even hug and kiss us publicly. we are a very physically demonstrative family. Did not realize that they had to stop kissing us. |
| My son is 17 never hugs me. I’ll hug him all the time and tell him I love him and he’ll always say I love you too mom. But often at night I’ll be watching TV and he will come and sit right next to me and we’ll chat and laugh. He is a very sweet kid, but the only family member who gets hugs from him is the dog. He’ll pick the pup up and hug and kiss it all the time lol. My daughter is 16 and she used to be a hugger until around 8th grade. Now she rarely hugs us. I hug her all the time and she always hugs back. Or if she’s sick she still likes to cuddle. She does say I love you often. |
Okay, I've wondered about this! DS is 11 and has always been extremely affectionate, and I keep wondering when it will stop. Sometimes it's a little much but I'd rather that than a lot less affection. |

DD is 14 and has gotten more affectionate as time has gone on. She was a really difficult and anxious child and is on the spectrum. She either was too busy to give hugs or refused to be touched. Around age 12 she sort of mellowed out and now she comes up to us and gives hugs. It's delightful, even though sometimes her hugs feel awkward because she doesn't seem to know how to put her body in a natural hug position.
DS is 11 and has always been extremely affectionate from the time he came out of the womb. It will be interesting to see when that stops. The way he snuggles with me now would certainly not be appropriate for a 16-year old, but for now I am just soaking it all in. |
Huh? |
|
18 year old son - no, but he is not really physically affectionate in general (though he is extremely kind and loving).
16 year old DD - yes |
Like, if I'm laying on the couch he just comes up to me and flops on top of me and snuggles me really close, and sometimes he grabs my face and kisses me on the nose or cheek. Adorable right now but I wouldn't want him to do that when he's as tall as I am. |
