DD is 14 and has gotten more affectionate as time has gone on. She was a really difficult and anxious child and is on the spectrum. She either was too busy to give hugs or refused to be touched. Around age 12 she sort of mellowed out and now she comes up to us and gives hugs. It's delightful, even though sometimes her hugs feel awkward because she doesn't seem to know how to put her body in a natural hug position. DS is 11 and has always been extremely affectionate from the time he came out of the womb. It will be interesting to see when that stops. The way he snuggles with me now would certainly not be appropriate for a 16-year old, but for now I am just soaking it all in.
Huh?
Like, if I'm laying on the couch he just comes up to me and flops on top of me and snuggles me really close, and sometimes he grabs my face and kisses me on the nose or cheek. Adorable right now but I wouldn't want him to do that when he's as tall as I am.
