What enjoyment is there in outdoor movies? Help me understand why you’d want to be outside at night vs. indoors

Compared to being inside your own living room, it feels like a special treat, the night air is so crisp and cool, and there are fewer distractions. Planning for National treasure 1&2 nights soon.

Where are you that the night air is crisp and cool over the summer? Not DC. It's heavy and thick here.

I’m in the mountain west. But I’m originally from the south, so yeah, you have a good point. The nights are glorious here.

In general, outdoor movies are for people who like to be outdoors. Do you ask for an outdoor table or always choose indoors? Do you take your book outside or prefer to be indoors?

Not PP and in general I prefer to be outdoors, but not in the DC area in the summer. It's a swampy hellscape.

We've done this a few times with friends and kids. We set the screen up on one side of the yard and our solo on the other and the adults hang out around the solo, the kids are happily watching the movie. It's an opportunity to watch on a larger screen and they also like to run around in the dark and I get everyone glowy stuff to play around with. Our house is also open for them to come in if they want to play inside, but generally encourage the outside activity instead.

Me either OP. I love an outdoor concert because of the sound but the AV quality in most outdoor set-ups is not good. Plus, no seats, bugs, damp, no thanks. Not at someone's house, not in a park or other venue.
