Does your DD shave her legs?

Now that it's warm out, I've noticed lots of young women with hairy legs. I think it's great. I'm a bit sad that I had mine lasered year ago.

My 13 year old is an occasional shaver. More in warm weather, just about never in winter (although she's in the pool throughout the year). Mostly, she's too lazy to pay too much attention to it.

I grew leg hair starting in elementary school. I started shaving freshman year of high school due to sports. People suggested that I used Nair and wanted to know why I didn't shave. I never got bullied for it however

I just asked DD (15) and she told me that she shaves once or twice a week. She's not very hairy, though. She told me she barely shaves at all in the winter because she wears sweats/leggings most of the time.

DD 12 is hairy. Pale skin and dark hair. She does not shave or wax. Apparently a boy commented that she is hairy. Her reaction was okay so what?! Mind your own business😀

This is so weird to me. I wouldn’t let my daughter babe hairy armpits.

Of course you would, if your daughter was adamant about not wanting to shave. What would you do, hold her down and do it for her? Stand outside the bathroom door and not let her out until it’s done? That would be beyond weird, in monstrous territory.

Still happens. My daughter’s teammate doesn’t shave and everyone snickers at the poor girl.

Let them snicker. She sounds like a strong young woman to not let others clueless judgment affect her.

Good for her! You're raising a young woman who is not making decisions based on what some middle school boy thinks.

I know it's her body just a little worried about what people might say to her, or if it will affect her job in any way. Or is this common now for teen girls?

Yes. I have explicitly told her multiple times over the years that not doing so isn’t an option. She isn’t allowed to come to any family gatherings without shaven legs and armpits.

That’s horrifying.

No, it isn’t. Having hairy legs & armpits will not help in the real world having friendships, relationships & the workplace.

If her friendships are based on leg hair. She doesn’t want them

Everyone? Or just your daughter?

Sounds like the parent is laughing. What a horrible mother.

Pretty much this for mine too.

My 13 year old shaves her armpits but not her legs. Who knows what's going on in her head. But it's her body and I don't say a word about it.

My 17 year old and all her friends shave their legs, armpits and get Brazilian waxes. Literally all of them. No hair anywhere.

I’m surprised you know how your dd’s friends groom their pubic hair. Are they swimmers or gymnasts or something?
