Do you set a limit on deliver food?

We get delivery once a week or so. But we generally do it for the whole family. They can’t just order snacks to be delivered randomly on my dime. That would not fly. Expensive, unhealthy, lazy and entitled.

I'm embarrassed for OP raising a teen who can't manage a toaster oven or microwave.

Figuring out what you can make from what's in the house is a vital life skill. As is learning to plan ahead and have a stash of pantry and freezer meals and snacks.

Paying through the nose because you're too lazy/incompetent/picky/special to make something at home or go out and get something under your own power does not square with our family's values and priorities.

A lot of these people are just not doordash people. I drive for doordash so trust me if you're a delivery type family it's going to shock them. I deliver to teens all the time. My children aren't teens but my 6 year old gets excited when I doordash her something. We have dashpass so it's not much more expensive and easier than taking her brother out with us since I'm a single mom. I use it as a tool just like people who pay for cleaners. That said, I don't spend more than $20 a few times a month.

Yeah..never.

Can’t believe people’s kids are ordering door dash all the times. That is insane. If your teen is hungry, they can open the frig and make a sandwich, get a bowl of cereal, scramble some eggs...like a normal person. Ordering snacks and meals from door dash because they are too lazy and entitled to eat any of the food literally in the house, no way.

Tons of people use DoorDash regularly . Clearly this forum has attracted the weirdos who think it’s “against their values”. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

My kids can use all the doordash they want once they’re supporting themselves.

We don’t do food delivery service (adults or teens)- it’s a huge ripoff. It’s not “against my values” it’s just freaking highway robbery.

I am too cheap to order food for delivery unless I am sick. 17y DS just started doing it with his girlfriend. But he works so if he wants to pay the premium for delivery vs walking there...so be it.

This forum cracks me up. I use Doordash 2-3 times a month. We have a busy household with 4 kids, 2 working adults and it comes in handy.

Yes, we cook. Yes, we eat healthy. Yes, we also eat pizza.

If it's your teen's money, have at it. Order wings for $20 + tip. It won't happen a lot. If it's your credit card, set a limit. I don't allow my kids to order there own food delivery. They also don't have credit cards or paypal and I'm not offering up my passwords without limits.

Teen can use their own money for delivery, not mine!

This! We mostly eat healthy, home cooked meals as well but we are busy too. A few times a month we order doordash for the family. My teen likes to use his own money to order something a couple times a month. He is fully capable of preparing his own food and often does. I don’t think our “values” are compromised for this. LOL!!!

Are you all so freakin rigid about everything in your life? My goodness.

My DS just ordered wings $20, for just 8 wings…
I know he will stay up late doing the summer it’s $50 dollars a weeks reasonable amount of snacks they can order doing a week ?

Simple. The limit is they are not allowed to use door dash.

They, however, have my apple pay link to their phone to pay for food when they GO OUT.

Not sure who's lazier you or your kid, OP.
