Uhaul ramming incident near White House

Anonymous
His last name suggests a South Indian origin, specifically the state of Andhra Pradesh. Those regions are descended from Dravidian peoples. This is just an extremely misguided young man.

Thinking he is going to run the country and get rid of the president by driving a Uhaul through the fence? I agree. Extremely misguided.

I highly doubt your ability to determine nationality through a photo. What you saw was someone who you believe has the physical characteristics of an Indian. That person may or may not be an Indian. At 19 years of old from Missouri, there is a strong possibility that he is American.
of Indian descent . They guy is clearly not Caucasian

Good grief…. Get out a map, dummy.

See the Caucus mountains? Where Caucasians come from? Caucasians - you know, otherwise known as white people? The Caucasus mountains are in …. ASIA!!!

What else is in Asia?

India!!!!!

Indians ARE Caucasians. In other words, they are white.

+1 shooter in Allen TX was Hispanic who was radicalized on social media by far right groups.

The shooter in Allen TX was a WHITE male with a vaguely Hispanic surname.

It's a Nazi flag. The flag has a swastika on it, obviously, but Hindus don't have such flags.
the guy is Indian

Indians are racially white.

So in other words, yet ANOTHER angry WHITE male terrorist.

Where do you get that? White is typically of European descent. India is most definitely in Asia and not in Europe.

The only reason that Indians are sometimes categorized as white is based the colonization of India by the British Empire and that there are many people who have British ancestry who live in India. But India is in Asia and typically not considered white, unless you have British ancestry.

The categorization of those from the Caususus region of the world is largely archaic and no longer used. Caucasian for racial purposes now catgories those people of primarily European descent down to and including the Mediterranean.

Even if you were to use the old definition, the Caucusus region does not go nearly as far East as The Indian sub-continent:

We just went through several days of people saying, "How can a Hispanic guy be a white supremacist" despite that guy having swastikas tattooed on himself.

The original Aryans inhabited northern India. If this guy really is Indian, maybe he thinks he is an Aryan.

^^^ there is literally one other person here on this thread who understands this stuff. The rest of you really need to go back to college. ^^^

Any system of racial labeling is necessarily rather arbitrary. South Indians are Dravidian by descent, and there are people who believe the Dravidians are/were a distinctive race of their own. I can tell you this: the Dravidians I know do not consider themselves “caucasian” or “white.”

“India” also is something of an artificial construct, consisting of a land mass (the subcontinent) that various invaders (most recently the British) have labeled to suit themselves and their objectives. There are 28 states and 8 union territories in the nation of India, the majority of which have their own distinctive language and culture. Indian people are anything but racially heterogenous, and mere reference to an “Encyclopedia Britannia” map drawn by conquistadors does not change that.

The misandry and open racism displayed in your posts are something to be ashamed of; it is a pity you cannot see that.

Oh come now... No desperation at all. There are plenty of actual white supremacist maniacs running around this country already..

The U-Haul rammer literally praised Nazis and had an actual Nazi flag. It was the 2nd Reich red flag with a white circle with a black Nazi swastika inside of it. The flag can be seen on the ground outside of the U-Haul. It is definitely not a "hindu" flag. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/truck-crashes-security-barriers-white-house-driver-detained-nazi-flag-rcna85718

The name strongly suggests he is Indian American, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been influenced by hateful extremist ideologies.

You can't tell. I have a very distinctive Chinese name. But my parents came to the us over 70 years ago and I was born in the US nearly 60 years ago. I know many people of Hindu Indian descent who are native born Americans and whose parents emigrated to the US many many years ago. Also, I was raised in an era where there was a lot of anti-Asian sentiment so we were encouraged to be as American as we could and to minimize our own cultural past to avoid the stigma of being an alien American. And especially in an area that is conservative like Missouri, his family could have easily tried to suppress their heritage of origin.

This guy is only 19 and could easily be American and culturally completely non-Indian. There is no way to tell from a photo.

None of this makes him Caucasian. I resent the media, etc, trying to change the definition of white to meet an agenda
