Looking forward to it. My life is going to be somewhat chaotic in the next 6 weeks.
He has a prestigious internship lined up in DMV, a close family member is very sick and we are preparing for the worst and hoping for the best, my house is undergoing some repairs and renovation, I am on a diet and exercise program, I need to get lots of medical tests, need to declutter some areas, my mom is battling cancer...oh my! |
NP. Kid has been home from college for 2 weeks and has spent every day with HS friends. It is sweet that they are still close, but _every day_? Also, kid complains that friends have interesting internships, but they only got a part time job. However, has shown no initiative to find more work and has actually asked for time off from the part time job to spend more time with friends.
My freshman was pleasant when I saw him that first summer home, but spent almost all day sleeping and then was up at night playing video games. Had a PT job but it was online. Let’s just say we made sure he has a 12 month lease the next years and stayed there for the most part. Does your son have a summer job that can keep him busy? And help him grow up a bit?
Each summer in college I got a job that part d enough for me to live cheaply somewhere else. I'd encourage that for your kid next year. I had a blast and got to try out new cities.
Its an adjustment.
