Older sibling is actually in the Page immersion right now but younger one got a super high number for Page. Older kid was in the high 20s and got off the waitlist 3 days before school started but it was the first full year of in person school after covid so I think they moved through the waitlist faster than previous years.

Wow, I'm jealous. Those are the two we wanted but we got super super high numbers. Although I suppose you must have wanted Page. There must be a better way to do this. I mean I know people are going to end up disappointed whatever they do but there must be a better way to do the lottery. Like what if people ranked choices and when they drew your name they assigned you to the top pick still available? For example. I don't know, perhaps that has already been considered.

So sorry you didn't get in. I do feel really lucky knowing we have a decent shot off two of the waitlists. I don't know how high your numbers are but I heard last year some schools went really high into the wait lists (like the hundreds). Good luck!

I assume you are talking about Kindergarten? Do you know by the chance how much time waitlist numbers get to accept or decline?

Yes I'm referring to Kindergarten but good luck with the 1st grade wait list! I believe it's 5 days to accept/decline but they just had the deadline for the initial invitations last Friday (so they were given a bit more time). When my older child got off the waitlist a couple years ago we were only given 3 days to decide but that might have been because it was the week before school was starting. I don't know if the timeline changes once school is about to start or started (they keep offering spots up until January). Someone else on the thread might know, and the immersion office is very helpful, they just aren't very responsive at the moment (understandably).

DP It's within the range of what a lot of families with incomes around $250k (two feds) pay for daycare for one child. Many privates are $50k which definitely becomes out of reach at that income.

SCES is fantastic. Be aware of the building construction beginning this month, however. That's for SSIMS, but they share the old Blair HS building, and there will be impacts.

RCF was rebuilt maybe 6 or so years back.
