Right wing lies. Payments for influence are legal.

It is legal for a foreign country to pay the VP of the US to get favorable policies? Really? Is their a cap on how much they can pay?

If you are mad about this, then you must be apoplectic about the billions Trump, Jared and Ivanka took in.

You thought it was legal for the President when Trump did it.

Grassley knows exactly how whistleblowers work. He is a trusted member of Congress whom whistleblowers go to.
It would appear that Comer and Grassley do not trust the FBI. And, for good reason. It would also appear that they are in possession of a copy of the document they are asking the FBI to produce. Thus, the specificity of their statement.

And, as for the tweet in a previous post - the document in question is from 2020. And, it appears that the FBI has not acted on it to date. That is why the whistleblower has come forward.

Why wasn’t it acted on in 2020?

Probably for the same reason H. Biden's laptop hasn't been acted on for over 4 years.
He's a Democrat.

please explain more in details why the Trump administration did not act on it Trump was president ion 2020 and Bill Barr was the attorney general.

also, as for H. Biden's laptop, there is an ongoing investigation that was opened in 2018 under Trump's DOJ and is still under investigation by a Trump-appointed prosecutor

We have seen the bias at the FBI. We have seen the texts from some in the FBI leadership. Sure, Strzok and Page and McCabe are gone, but they were the tip of the iceberg when it comes to corruption.

And the laptop and tax investigation going on has its own whistleblower. Seems that investigation is being stonewalled too.

You have it backwards...Strozk and McCabe have not only been exonerated, but their lawsuits for restitution have been successful.

No. The suits are ongoing. They have not been successful.

Of course one of his earlier guys created a law and then when into private practice and collected millions representing a whistleblower, so…

This doesn't matter anymore, if it ever did. All the GOP wants is power and damn the rest.

Also, Grassley isn't quite as gone as Feinstein, but he's close. Another nonagenarian who should not be in Congress.

Did Q tell you that? McCabe reached a settlement with the FBI years ago and was awarded all of his back pay and a full pension. https://www.npr.org/2021/10/14/1039690679/andrew-mccabe-lawsuit-trump-fbi

Grassley could run circles around most of the people posting on this very site.
Literally run circles.

Actually it is almost certainly legal. Under McDonnell v. US, it is only illegal if the bribe is paid in exchange for an "official act" and "official act" means a "formal exercise of governmental power." Setting up a meeting or urging some other official to do something doesn't count. And since the VP has no formal power at all over foreign policy, he could not possibly have done an "official act."

Trump up 7 and climbing

This issue of buying influence in DC transcends both parties and needs to stop!

Why is a "billionaire" asking for $10 at a time from regular Americans to pay for his lawsuits?

Let the numbers climb. Dems want Trump to run. If Trump is the Rep. candidate, then that almost guarantees a win for Biden.
