| I miss Joe. |
Fear of dying alone. And no heirs. |
She got rich and famous glorifying abortion and vile debauchery. And now look at what that led to, a miserable broken and lonely old woman. Rich but so what. She’d trade all the money for a dentist husband and two kids. |
No, she really wouldn't. She says that if she'd married either of the two guys she could have married, she'd have been divorced by now. And she saya that she is uncertain she could have been a good mother. So this result is way better for everyone. |
As the child of a woman who would have been better off not marrying, and not being a mother, I would applaud more women taking their time, giving it thought, and focusing on career. The only thing Chelsea could have done different was getting herself therapized earlier. Good morning brunch granny. |
Except it’s not like she’s all better now. |
She's better than being poor, messy, with traumatized kids, ie, better than her own parents. |
How many people do you think are “all better now” who have experienced trauma and addiction, self-afflicted or otherwise? Even with time and therapy? Yes, she has lifestyle enabled/created issues (drug use, drinking, promiscuity) but she also experienced trauma from her brother dying when she was 9 and later her mom dying from cancer, and from getting pregnant and having abortions when she was a sophomore in high school. Pick just one of the issues she has had — alcoholism, substance abuse, loss of sibling or parent, multiple abortions as a minor — and let us know how “all better” somebody is managing their experience with it, to say nothing of multiple issues. Whether a fan or not, or whether she is famous or not, time and therapy doesn’t exactly “cure” everyone. Remember that. |
| She has siblings who seemingly fared better. |

I don't get that she's bitter about her choices. Say what you want about Chelsea, love her or hate her, she has done really well and is incredibly wealthy. If she wanted kids, much like Jen Aniston, she could have them! Surrogacy, adoption, whatevs.
She is a huge supporter of Cat and Nat who post "mom truths" all the time so I don't think she is anti women with children, more just mocking the people who think you MUST have children to be fulfilled. I LOVE her schtick about having free time to sleep in and not go to "Disney Land, Lego Land, or Yogurt Land" LOL. I also have a friend in mid 40s who is really torn about not having a partner and settling down and she appreciates that there are forums now to embrace a child free lifestyle amongst all the mommy bloggers and bump watches. I don't understand the "she must be bitter and miserable" about different women. I love being a mom but I get that not everyone wants that life. |
| She claims to be extremely happy. |
I finished the book! I loved it. Further notes: while she considered that she had ADD, her therapist didn't think so. Her therapist also ruled out narcissistic personality disorder. Now that she is healthier, more self aware, having addressed her traumas, she wants a partner/husband. At the she wrote something like, "Dedicated to my future husband," so she is totally putting that out into the universe (as they say). She doesn't really say she wants children, and she's very into her dogs and enjoys her nieces/nephews. |
They are mostly much older so had more years of relative stability before Chet died. Siblings have different experiences in the same family.. |
Such a silly statement. I really, really doubt that. |
| Joy Behar used to have a short lived late nite show while on a brief hiatus from The View. Chelsea Handler went to her show to promote "Lies Chelsea Handler Told Me" where she confessed to be on therapy for a narcissistic personality. That explains a lot. |
