This one: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/43885930 “Life will be the death of me” Most of her issues (she says) stems from the trauma of losing her brother who was her idol/best friend/most stable parental type figure in her life. |

Chelsea did not come from money… at all. Her dad was a used car salesman who was unemployed half the time. |
"What she pushed" -- what's that? Not a baby? Look, the perspectives of women outside norms have always been welcome relief to other women outside norms. What's with the paranoia that a woman slept around, had abortions, talked about it, is going to corrupt girls uninterested in those ideas? Best way to ensure your daughters stay on straight/narrow is to actually be a great parent, if you know how. You have weird ideas, so I doubt it. |
She NOW has boats of money, of her own making. |
I hated her on E! but love her now. I think she has really evolved, as hopefully most of us have. |
| Just post on the Book Club Forum and ask for a recommendation for Chelsea's autobiography. That's the point of your long post, right? |
It’s already posted above. |
Thanks for clarifying. At first I thought I wanted speculation on CH's mental disorders, but this thread made it clear to me that I actually want a book recommendation. I am fascinated by Chelsea Handler. Seems like a good idea to go with the most recent one, in which she'll be her most evolved. But no, I won't start another topic about it
|
OP the latest book she talks about her life, struggles, and journey to therapy/meditation. The other books are humorous / comedy and not serious at all. |
Thank you, that's useful. |

She’s broken. She’s documented her childhood and she’s open about her issues. But her false bravado masks insecurity and her faux confidence fuels “Look at me!” behavior for attention and shock value. She’s alone because she’s selfish and incapable of putting a partner before her. It’s a lack of maturity coupled with a lack of real interest in anyone other than herself. The addiction goes hand in hand with the anxiety and depression.
In short: a self-centered know it all pretending to be Uber confident…like most comics. And I’m a fan who’s seen her shows, read her books, etc. She’s still funny. I just feel sad for her. |
| I listen to her podcast and she has evolved quite a bit from her earlier E personality / comedy style. She is actually very well read, quite articulate and spends a lot of time encouraging women (call in format) to be more confident. Her guests include other self help gurus like Glennon Doyle and Laura Lynn Jackson. |
Hi brunch granny! |
I saw her birth year in her bio as 1975. No way. More like 1965. |
