| Ours were up this summer. My spouse and I did the renewal a few months ago and were approved within days. We had to wait on our kid and it said something about an interview would be needed. We didn't have that on our renewals. We'll see...... FWIW, I believe I saw that they extend your expiration if apply for renewal before the expiration date due to a long processing time. I think it buys you a year! |
Because of the covid-era delays, CBP actually extended that grace period to 2 years. https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry/frequently-asked-questions "If you submit a renewal application before your membership expires, you will be able to continue to use benefits up to 24 months after your membership expiration date." But once your renewal is approved, the new expiration date is still 5 years from your old one. |
DH had a new application. 2 days to approve then got the interview 2 weeks later. He does have a TS clearance. Wonder if that helped. |
It does not. Plenty of people with low and high level clearance still take months to get conditional approval. It's random, nobody knows why you get put into the "long wait" group. Sometimes one half of a couple that travels to all the same places gets the quick approval, and the other waits months. |
