Moms getting dressed up and posting about going to Taylor Swift

I can’t wait to go with my 10 and 14 year old daughters, will be an amazing memory for us. I’ll probably post about it too if my 14 yr old is okay with it. If someone thinks its pathetic, it’s ok, we are having fun!

I don't like her music either but DD is obsessed so DH is taking her. He likes the music and will have more fun than me. I have no issue with anyone of our age going - good for them!

How fun! I love it.

I wish we had TS tickets. It would be fun. I only have boys but we all would be totally on board with going to the concert. I don't think I'd do the dressing up part, though. You can pry my Old Navy joggers out of my cold, dead hands.

I don't care for TS but if I was able to get tickets I'd go in a heartbeat. It looks so fun to be part of such a positive and enthusiastic experience. Also OP, I'm 35 and a mom. Taylor Swift music has been around since I was a teenager. If anything I would think young people consider it old people music, but I guess that just speaks to her talent.

My DD is a teen and wants me to dress up. I’m not interested but might do it just to please her. I love my kid and her happiness brings me incredible joy even if it means I look a bit foolish doused in glitter for a few hours.

Love the moms that do this! So fun!

I don't agree with that even though I know you were being sarcastic. But I also don't understand the need/desire/benefit of posting that stuff on social.

Posting that you snagged (or paid $1k) for the one of the most talked about events in your peer circle is honestly one of the most harmless uses of social media. Of course the people who post a lot AND are going to T.Swift are going to post about it.

I'm going to Madonna in September. I don't post a ton, but occasionally through the year, mostly my kids. I will most likely put up a group picture of me and my friends (40-50 aged) dressed up like some version of 80s Madonna even though 1/2 of us are frumpy moms now. Why? Because it's fun!!!

As well you should - that will be an amazing show. Also, social media is a way to store your own memories and photos. Most of us aren't keeping diaries or anything like that - we remember what we did, who we were with, how we felt at any given time, by looking back over the photos we shared of our lives. I hope every person posting a photo of themselves at a TS concert will get to look back at those photos many times in years to come, and feel happiness whenever they do.

That's awesome. You're going to look great, and what a wonderful thing to share with your kid.

How pathetic is your life that you have to hang out on a beauty and fashion board on a parenting website to get your rocks off like this. Go touch grass for the love of god.

It's one thing for middle-aged people to attend these concerts. It's another thing for them to dress head to toe and sequins and short mini skirts from Amazon. Get why they think that is on brand for Taylor Swift

Why do you even care what people do for harmless fun???

I’m thrilled dd is not really into TS any more. I took her to see her on her Reputation tour. DD was in grade school.

It's honestly misogynistic. Men don't get this level of criticism for everything they do.

I'm convinced at this point that most misogyny comes from women.
