Moms getting dressed up and posting about going to Taylor Swift

I love TS and she is not a Disney star. She is one of the biggest stars.

+1. When women support a fandom and spend a couple hundred on merchandise or $1000 on concert tickets, she's wasting money. When men spend 10x that on season tickets and spend every weekend glued to the tv for multiple sports, they're considered perfectly normal. And don't even think of putting up a poster, even though your basement might have team flags decorating it.

My DH doesn’t do this:

Wish I could swing tickets for my DD and me. Seems like it would be a core memory!!

I don't agree with that even though I know you were being sarcastic. But I also don't understand the need/desire/benefit of posting that stuff on social.

Posting that you snagged (or paid $1k) for the one of the most talked about events in your peer circle is honestly one of the most harmless uses of social media. Of course the people who post a lot AND are going to T.Swift are going to post about it.

I'm going to Madonna in September. I don't post a ton, but occasionally through the year, mostly my kids. I will most likely put up a group picture of me and my friends (40-50 aged) dressed up like some version of 80s Madonna even though 1/2 of us are frumpy moms now. Why? Because it's fun!!!

Not one person in my peer circle is talking about taylor swift concert.

The whole posting anything about your life on social media is odd to me. Does post it about add to the fun?

We go on incredible vacations, have wonderful experiences and attend fabulous events, not once have I ever had the desire to post anything about any of it.

Good for them! I hope they have a blast. I'll be taking my DD to see Taylor Swift come May 13th. Can't wait to see everyone dressed up and having fun.

+1 I'm not white, so not seeing much of this. But let people have their fun.

Yes, actually it does. I find fun and joy in sharing and discussing my cool experiences with my family and friends, and in turn, seeing, hearing, and discussing theirs with them. I like to be, you know, SOCIAL!
