I think the media often won’t cover these kinds of cases. See the Zulock family in Atlanta who has also barely gotten any coverage. Maybe journos are just too squeamish.

I wonder how prevalent this is. It's as horrifying to me as hearing there is a serial killer parent in my area (maybe this is scarier as it involves children). My kids have sleepovers at least monthly but are at an age they know and could tell me if something weird was going on in terms of abuse or inappropriate photography. When kids spend the night here it's usually more than one and they are not engaging with parents much beyond getting fed or told to put electronics away for the night.

Um, I was molested at a sleepover at age 12 by my friends older brother and never told anyone until I was an adult. Even if I had told someone, it would’ve been after it had already happened so the damage was already done. And I come from a close knit family and normally talk to my parents and siblings about all kinds of things. But this is something I suppressed and didn’t discuss for years. And this happened at my good friend’s house my parents knew her family well and I hung out there often.

I live in ATL and this got a bunch of local coverage, calls for other victims to come forward, etc. It was the talk of the town. I'm baffled this case hasn't gotten much coverage. I read the complaint and she isn't just offering to participate, she's instructing the "dad" with tips on how to do it. It also says that she was active on that site for 3 years. It seems likely that she did actually abuse children during that time, given her apparently endless number of tips about how to keep the child calm, desensitize the child to the abuse, etc.

I bet she’s describing both how she was abused and also how she abused her own children.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I can understand keeping something like this secret. I have done the same with things that were in no way my fault but I was scared to be associated with it (scared of having blame heaped my way) so I stayed quiet. Only as an adult can I see how stupid that was as nobody could have blamed me as a little kid.
