Dc making car theft victims pay speeding tickets of car thieves

There was a follow-up news report about this. DC DMV basically shrugged it off, saying there was nothing more to be done because the guy paid the ticket.

That's what I find most horrifying here. DMV was specifically asked about this and took the formal position that it was fine. Any competent organization would use this opportunity to figure out what went wrong and how to make sure it never happens again.

DMV, like so much of DC government, lacks that baseline competence.

There will never be ticket reciprocity if this is how the DC government approaches these situations for MD and VA residents. The guy approached the process in good faith and the city made a mockery of him.
