This is an odd take. Just like the idea that people who can control their weight are somehow angry such a drug exists.

I think it’s great. But, I don’t envy somebody who is beholden to big pharma to keep their health in check. Completely different than taking generic hypertension medication that’s been pennies a pill for decades.

For real, it sucks. Hopefully as it gets approved for more conditions and eventually isn’t patented the cost will come down a lot. This drug is really helping me but that doesn’t mean I’m thrilled to need it, obviously!

Anything related to weight in America is such a hornet’s nest. My advice to any one starting any weight loss would be to not listen to anyone but yourself, your doctor, and your trainer if you have a good one.

Oh so share what special research you are planning on publishing! This has been in the market for 10 years and your discovery sounds groundbreaking!

Like type 2 prevention, cardiovascular disease reversal, reversal of hypertension, reversal of sleep apnea, reversal of arthritis, stroke prevention?

Sounds awful! Don’t take it. Too risky.

Agree. I am paying out of pocket because my insurance co won’t cover it for prediabetes. I can afford it but sucks for people who can’t.

I’m on ozempic and am anticonvulsant . I don’t feel beholden, I feel grateful for the scientists that developed these drugs so that I can live a healthy and comfortable life. These are lifesaving drugs and I’m so glad I have access to them.

You’d be surprised. My sister has all but stopped speaking to me since I told her I was taking ozempic. And she’s relatively thin, it’s not like she’s jealous that she’s fat and doesn’t have access. It’s a real thing and it’s pathological.

That’s a pretty fringe example. And you’ve done yourself a favor and have discovered a reason not to interact with her.

Kind of like it takes the edge of my hunger and mental obsession over food but its still there. But if I wasn't motivated to loose weight and make good choices I could easily see no change. I've lost about 6-7 pounds in 7 weeks which I'm happy about.

Exactly. You can't continue to eat crap and wonder why you can't lose weight even while on a drug.

Look at the people who get surgery and still gain the weight back. When will people take responsibility for their choices?

You sound pleasant

You can be grouchy all you want, but pp is right. The drugs are nothing but a temporary bandaid. Move more, untangle the mental health issues causing you to overeat, and make better food choices. That's the only way weightloss will be sustainable, with or without drugs/surgery/etc.

No one asked for this input. By the time a person is choosing medication help, they have figured out what their impediments are.

Do you think you are shedding light for anyone?

Great drugs. But this stuff doesn’t grow on trees, which is why all this is so expensive. I was simply responding to the post about jealously. That’s a weird take I keep seeing. Or some kind of anger from people that don’t take or need these new weight loss drugs. I can assure you the vast vast majority of people DGAF.
