Not sure! My daughter applied EA, had all As when she applied and was deferred. She has maintained the grades, but they can’t be looking for improvement in her case. She’s has one B since freshman year. |
It’s easier to get into Harvard than off the deferral or waitlist. |

Whoa tough stats |
Jeeeeez. |
This has been the reality for RD for years at UVA. In a few weeks--like clockwork-- the posts will pour in of outraged parents who can't believe their kid didn't get into their "safety" school UVA. And surprise, surprise, they lost the Ivy lottery, so now... they're freaking out.
UVA is a "reach" school. For everyone. |
Interestingly, RD OOS acceptance rate is 12% consistent with overall OOS acceptance rate. Where it is brutal is for those who were deferred ED or EA with a 3.5% admit rate |
I mean c’mon. Looking at those numbers and none of y’all’s kids are getting in RD. You might as well just forget about it. |
I think the OOS EA admit rate was also 12%. So the deferred are getting a second chance but with a very slim 3.5%. |
Isn’t the 27% admissions for in state pretty good? |
Am I reading that the number of VA students accepted after applying ED deferred Tripled? over last year stats? |
Yeah. BUT you don't know the total deferred applications reviewed. This year, appears 217 in state deferrals will be offered acceptance out of 2439 apps reviewed OR 8.8% |
May the luck of the Irish be with you all! |
