| But can OP wear capris? (Too early for this question, DCUM?) |
You're disgusting. |
Mission accomplished! |
|
I don’t know, I’m torn. Does it look good? Well, no. But I get people of all sizes don’t want to be hot and want to wear something cool and comfortable.
But the more flesh you have, the easier it is to look “inappropriate.” Im thin with an A cup. I could wear a plunging neck dress and still look acceptable in most settings since I have zero cleavage. Someone with a DD can’t. Well, they could... but others would judge them more harshly |
If your boobs and cleavage are down by your legs where OP was asking about, that’s a really deep plunge and you probably don’t look acceptable in it. I’m fat and I wear shorts. I hate being hot. I do love that the fat shamers keep showing their colors. |
DCUM's rule about not asking questions early is dumb. Summer clothes are in stores now. If you wait until June, there will nothing left. |
But the sentiment is the same. Someone wearing 3 inch inseam shorts with long, thin, toned legs is going to be perceived a lot differently than someone wearing 3 inch shorts with rolls of inner thigh fat hanging out and cellulite all over. |
|
OP should only wear these:
Just kidding! Wear shorts. People who dislike it can go jump off a bridge. |
NP here and ITA. I'm 30E so huge boobs and there are a lot of things that I could wear but I don't. I think that wearing some light, linen flowy pants or joggers in the summer would be more comfortable than shorts. |
Agree with all of this! I'm not even really sure what OP means by "inappropriate". Of course wear what ever you like, but if someone with big legs cares about picking flattering shorts, that is exactly the style... a high waist, midi length, and a big leg opening. Even so, a linen pant or a maxi/midi dress is going to be more flattering, and if you choose the right fabric, really not necessarily hotter or less comfortable. But again, I'm talking about what is flattering, not what is "appropriate" (whatever that means). |
Don't take this advice. How you present yourself matters. There is a way to dress comfortably and still look decent. |
| I lean towards inappropriate. Not a fat shamer, I think fat people (like skinny people) look gorgeous in outfits that fit their bodies well. It's kind of like taking pictures of your home. If you had a wall that had a scrape or smt you would hide that with a well placed object. |
| “Inappropriate” - what does this even mean? There is no consensus for what’s appropriate or inappropriate. We live in a big diverse country, ask 100 people, you’ll get 100 opinions. |
“Decent” is in the eye of the beholder and some people don’t especially care about what’s “flattering” or looks good to others, they just want to be comfortable for whatever they’re doing. I can’t imagine not wearing shorts if I was going to be outside in the heat. |
Not really. One is more about patriarchal beliefs regarding vulgarity and one is more about patriarchal beliefs about how women’s bodies “should” look, aka fat shaming. Vulgarity and fat shaming aren’t the same thing, except that women are the ones most likely to aggressively police other women’s appearances. |
