Is Biden leftist or moderate?

It’s one thing for a politicians beliefs to evolve between the time they were first elected to when they get older and have kids, a spouse, a mortgage, military service, etc. Biden is different. Politically, his beliefs today are almost the polar opposite since when he was a grown man in his 50s. He will basically say anything to get elected including making things up out of thin air. He makes George Santos blush.

LOL! You weren't on a too bad roll here but just completely over-played your hand w/ this gem!

His budget proves he is a leftist.

Oh please stop. Get some perspective. Biden's proposals are no farther "left" than Eisenhower's or Reagan's were.

He's a moderate.

Exactly. And no amount of far right opinion pieces, no amount of hysterical shrieking that he's a "radical leftist" a "socialist" or "communist" is going to change the fact that he's far more an old school moderate Dem than any of those things.

If high schools and colleges could teach real civics classes again, we’d be a better country.

We say leftist because we see it is radically different than liberal. Liberals welcome debate and diversity of thought. They might think they are correct on the issues but they understand that others can look at the same information and reach a different conclusion. That is not Biden or the leftist wing of the Democratic Party. The leftists are no different than the far right religious conservatives in that they do not see options or respect diversity of opinion. Many republicans bristle at being lumped in with the religious right. But they don’t ignore its existence and its power to influence with its power. It was at its height of power in the 80s. Today the far left has control of the Democratic Party. Moderate dems are just starting to push back but boy it is a push. DC is an example of sensible people pushing back (bowser) but 11 of 12 elected democrats in DC want to reduce criminal penalties in the middle of a crime wave. This shows that the far left is not the fringe. Laurie Lightfoot and Chessa Boudin didn’t hide their beliefs while running. They were very open about their far left policies and were elected into office easily. Then people saw what those policies look like. randi weingarten doesn’t really represent the views of any teachers I actually know but she has the ear of politicians and money.
Biden has always governed like a leaf in the wind following what the trends are in his party. He has NEVER lead his party. So right now the far left is the loudest group backed with lots of money (Soros, teachers union) and he is following them. He needs to listen to regular democrats but he isn’t listening at all right now. If he listens and starts to push back on the lefties, he may end up moderate but he is definitely captured by the left. And fwiw, regular democrats don’t say MAGA all the time. That is a tell that someone is a close minded lefty.

He is more moderate than the DC city council, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders.

Neither, he's center-right.

The US is just so far right he looks "leftist" to people who don't know how regressive the US is compared to the rest of the first world.

The label is unimportant. The fact is that he makes me long for the Carter administration when things in this country weren’t nearly as bleak.

How is the US far right?

He’s a moderate who’ll do whatever the leftists tell him to do.

The billionaire financier Soros is the far left?

He is not.

He is a divisive, angry leftist. He has caved to the demands of the far left.
The ONLY thing I agree with him on is not to veto the actions of Congress when it comes to overturning the DC crime bill.
He doesn't have a choice with this one. Because, if he vetoed it, it would prove he is not tough on crime.

Agree. He has followed in the footsteps of his last boss. That vicious shouting of Jeremiah Wright still gives me nightmares:
“God DAMN America!” from the pulpit that they visited every Sunday for decades.

As a native Washingtonian, I had never heard anything so divisive in my entire life. Oh, and I had the historic ‘68 MLK marches right outside our front door, no doubt the only one on this forum.

No one takes you seriously if you use the term “leftist”.
