I don't think every school has uploaded the results. I don't see anything yet, and I'm fairly certain my kid meets all the criteria. |
| For those who worry their kids did not meet the second grade criteria, they will also keep retesting third, fifth and seventh grade. Almost everyone will be identified GT by high school |
| (Different poster) My kid didn't meet the criteria in 2nd grade because of a low DIBELS score, but met it this year. But if it doesn't make a difference in what he's being taught at school, then... eh, what's the point? |
He's supposed to receive enrichment |
Pp, did you receive a letter/notice if not meet the criteria in 2nd grade back then? I wonder if parents get notified no matter what if it is a yes or no. What enrichment could 3rd grader get on math or/& language? |
Yes, they notify either way. |
One very common example enrichment is separate math and reading groups with harder and more complex material. |
| Weird, my letter was in Parent Vue this morning but now it is gone. |
I just checked and what was there is morning is now gone too. Huh |
But, as noted elsewhere, this is not implemented with fidelity across the system. Part of that is difficulty for teachers to spend time with GT students when there is not a large cohort/when the bulk of need is with other populations. |
Same here. Weird. |
| I just checked and I don’t have anything. I wonder if those who were notified were notified by mistake? I know my kid qualifies (we had external neuropsych eval revealing highly gifted) |
And teacher observation. |
I mean, it doesn't have to be fancy. A cart of pre-selected "advanced" books and letting the kids have their pick for 45 minutes counts too. |
| Ours just posted. |
