What happens if…

There. Are. No. Consequences. School has become a zoo at all grade levels (FYI, I work at a W)

Let me guess - Winston Churchill.

Under the MOU, it's reported to police so they can confiscate any illegal drugs. There are no police-related consequences for smoking. There may be disciplinary consequences at the school. But that's really up for debate.

Nobody gets arrested for simple position. That's a citation. Likely the person was dealing. Or had a weapon as well.

Quick rule of thumb in mcps if it's good news reward a principal if it's bad news blame a teacher.

There is rampant vaping in the bathrooms at my kids' HS. The administration occasionally sends home an email asking people to be sensitive to asthmatics and not to wear "heavy perfumes" or bring in "cuddly toys". There is almost a complete policy of blind-eye / denial on the vaping issue.

Never. MCPS is not reporting kids to MCPD for smoking pot. Do you really want this to happen? It would disproportionately target kids of certain races.

Nothing happens if your kid is caught smoking pot. How would the kid get 'caught'? Security doesn't have the time and manpower to go after every kid smoking pot in high school.

Who cares if it impacts different races differently? If you break the law, you break the law.

If someone breaks the law prosecute them. You don't get a pass because of your race.

What is wrong with you people? What decade did you fall asleep in?

Smoking and vaping is not a crime!

Providing drugs to a CHILD is a crime.

It’s cute to think that’s what happens.

So if certain races are more likely to commit a crime, that is a reason not to enforce laws against it?
