Look, what she lacks in vision she also lacks in charisma.

I wonder why the GOP didn't have their creepy darling DeSantis do the rebuttal if they think he's so persuasive?

No idea but I thought she was a smart choice for the rebuttal - . She is youngest Governor and has ties to Trump without being Trump … so that includes the MAGAs in a way the more conservative GOP end can live with.

There was nothing of substance there and agree with TV preacher- infomercial vibe impression - but she did a good job of capturing GOP ideals - however detached they are from reality and pragmatic solutions to real pr9bekms.

They probably asked him and he refused. It’s not a great job.

The list of people who have done the SOTU rebuttal is like a who's who of also-rans. I'm surprised anyone agrees to do it.

That's because most potential POTUS candidates stink and we can all see it as soon as they start trying out for the job. Not doing the SOTU rebuttal doesn't shield you from that - it just prolongs how long it is before we all see it. Either you're good enough to run or you're not. I think.

^ Me again, and it's pretty interesting looking through the list of who's given SOTU rebuttals before. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Response_to_the_State_of_the_Union_address#:~:text=When%20the%20president%20is%20a,by%20Democratic%20President%20Lyndon%20Johnson.

On the list of those who's given it: Biden (a couple of times), Bill Clinton, Bob Dole, Susan Collins, Nancy Pelosi, Tim Kaine, Gretchen Whitmer

I will never forget the Bobby Jindal one. I don't think anyone has tanked their career more quickly than he did with that SOTU rebuttal.

They should have had George Santos. He's the perfect poster boy and stereotype of a modern Republican politician.

Yes. The SOTU rebuttal is where national political careers go to die.

She was a great speaker, spoke the truth and shows she's in touch with what most American's feel. You can tell she spoke from the heart and really feels bad for what Biden has done to the country.

Total opposite from the fallow, deceitful and inarticulate ramble Biden gave for the actual SOTU. it's painful to watch him as he tries to gather his thoughts and remember which lies he needs to tell or watch him spout out some nonsense like Alzheimer's patient. have of the time he talks it's unintelligible or some incoherent mumbling.

The governor of a state utterly reliant on transfer funds from the federal government being against big government and pro fiscal discipline is hilarious

I think you need to read more and stop posting because recent data doesn’t align with your claims:

https://www.moneygeek.com/living/states-most-reliant-federal-government/

Twenty-nine states sent more to the federal government than they received, compared to just nine states in 2021.
Of the states that sent more than they received, 52% were Democrat-voting and 48% were Republican-voting.
New Mexico had the highest return on federal spending of any state ($3.69), and Delaware had the lowest ($0.32).

Arkansas is at #24, behind Blue Maryland at #23. Blue NM is #1

To find the states in the U.S. that were most dependent on the federal government in 2022, MoneyGeek analyzed the return on taxes sent to the federal government and the percent of each state’s revenue provided by the federal government.

Not my type,
She’s not my type.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders,
Oy vey.

And that outfit,
Obi Wan Kenobi called.
He said he wants his robe back,
That’s what he said.

He said he wants his robe back,
If you want to know the truth.
