Ever since then, I haven't seen him do anything I disagree with. If he gets the nomination, I'm 100% going to vote for him.

He did.

He implemented very similar policies to most EU countries.

The real mystery is how the blue states got it so wrong. Aren't they supposed to be more educated or something?

Florida benefited from the rest of the country not traveling there for tourism, cruises, etc. during the pandemic and all the old people on Medicare listening to their doctors and isolating and then getting the vaccines. Florida wasn’t really more open than most other places. He just talked shit but schools and businesses and most people took precautions because they aren’t all morons.

You're going to get a shock when you discover the FTC, the SEC, the CFPB, heck even Congress.

Must be fun to be an extremist libertarian!

Exactly. They took precautions, so they could safely OPEN. Which they were able to do thanks to DeSantis, who fought the Dem-fuelled nonsense going on in so many blue states.

I guess Dem Governors think that schools and businesses and most people ARE morons.

I am not a republican and would not vote for DeSantis. However, I lurk on conservative websites sometimes and the consensus seems to be that DeSantis is smart, young, and has their backing. They’re done with trump and ready to vote for DeSantis. Unfortunately, I see him polling very well if not winning. The republicans will get behind him, while the democrats aren’t very excited about anyone.

First of all, he has zero charisma. None. He is flat and comes across as stupid when he speaks.

Secondly, there are not enough Cubans nationwide to swing the vote toward the man because "democrats. socialism."

Finally, his culture war issues will not play on a national stage. Very limited to Florida and MAGA types, who sorry, are the minority. Electoral college or not.

He is dead in the water rotten fish.

Why do you think Cubans vote republican? Thoughts?

Habit. Relationships. Florida Dems are the sorries bunch of incompetents you've ever met (and I am one of them).

Then why does Florida have one of the highest excess death rates in the country in the last 2 years? You call that a success???

Are you looking at any of his policies outside of culture war and COVID stuff? The Florida property insurance market is collapsing on his watch and the only thing he pleaded was that the insurance companies wait to withdraw from the market until after the 2022 election. He did not opt into the Medicaid expansion and as a result, there is a huge problem with uninsured seeking medical care in Florida. He has no solutions for increased intensity of climate change on Florida's coasts. If you look at his "landslide" win, I think it's a bit misleading since there has been a massive influx of Republicans from the Northeast and Midwest (many looking to escape sensible COVID policies during and after the pandemic and found a state that didn't require mask mandates). That and combined with natural migration of retirees from places with good jobs but higher taxes and costs of living to places with better climates and lower taxes. I wouldn't read too much into his win since Florida is a bit of an outlier because of this.

+1
-Floridian.

Also, Charlie Crist wasn't exactly the most exciting opponent.

DeSantis opened up Florida.
Biden wanted people fired for not being vaccinated.

Those charts seem to show DC and MA have the highest excess death rates in the country in the last 2 years?

In any case, regarding Fl, deaths per capita are around middle of the table, which is quite a feat given it has the oldest population around. Much older than DC and MA for example.

Yes one anecdote isn’t data but note that these guys do get some of that vote.

Open schools, safe streets, competent governing, no woke bs, booming population, high-speed trains, evidence-based policies = white nationalism in your demented minds...

It is pretty awful to have to listen to him speak.

I had never really listened to him speak before. This prompted me to go watch his inauguration speech. Wow, he is a bad speaker! That voice and the constant swaying around behind the podium is really grating.

He makes super weird facial expressions and always seems like he really has to poop but you're making him stand up there on the stage

Ha ha ha.
You folks are no doubt Biden supporters. And, you are going to criticize the way DeSantis speaks?
I am truly laughing out loud!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

NP. You are reading the chart incorrectly. Further RIGHT = more vaccinations, further UP = more deaths.
