Korean Spa?

I find it odd that there has been so much back-to-back positive commentary on this spa. It’s almost like a marketer is drumming up business.

I'm not a marketer. I tried it because I really wanted to get that feeling of exhibitionism. It's weird, but just a little bit thrilling. I don't know that I'll go back.

I've heard the body scrub is intense but worth it. Any reports?

i say its worth it I had a scrub and massage and was surprised at how much dead skin was scrubbed off. I got a body scrub for 25 minutes for $55. I made the appointment when I first walked in and checked in. They make it easy and the lady who did my scrub took great care of me. It was great.

Super worth it. Get the scrub special or whatever one comes with the hair wash, massage, and scrub. It's not what I'd call relaxing, but you'll never be as well exfoliated again in your life.

One thing is that kids must be at least 48" to be able to stand in the bade pool, so that limits younger kids who may be less able to stay calm and well behaved. If your kid(s) like relaxing things like pedicures, they'll do fine. If they're high energy, then it's probably not going to be great for you or your kid.

there is a smaller pool right next to the bade pool that kids under 4 feet can go in. would forsure recommend they bring a bath tub boat toy or something to keep them busy in the wet room.

I don't know that there's any real purpose in scrubbing off dead skin. It's there for a reason, and in a day or two, newly dead skin cells will replace it. Why are the Koreans so obsessed with this?

I took my daughter when she was 9 or so. It was nice, but she couldn't last as long in the hot tubs or pools. On the female side, they do have one kid-friendly hot tub, with water that's not as hot.

She was not disruptive, just didn't want to stay for as long as I would have, otherwise.

You wouldn't want to bring very little kids there, and you have to go with same-gender children, as you spend half the time in the segregated-by-gender area of the bade pool/hot tubs.

I have gone to Spa World a number of times, including recently. It's a pretty typical place, it's not meant to be fancy. The food at the cafe is very good, and is always part of the experience. I hear King Spa is newer/fancier, there is a section of mixed-gender hot tubs where you wear a swim suit, but there isn't food (unless that's changed). So I'd recommend going if you want to spend more time with different-gender family members.

I've found the kid pool is often closed, and the hot tubs are mostly too hot for younger kids. It's a non-issue for me personally, but if I had a younger kid, I would recommend calling in advance to confirm the small pool is open that day.

You don't ever exfoliate? Lucky you - I get rough patches and clogged pores if I don't. A professional scrub leaves you feeling soft and smooth, and gets all of the hard to reach places (like your back) that are trouble spots for many of us.

took my son a while back and the kids pool/hot tub was open on mens side. Some of the pools do go down from time to time and they never seem in any hurry to repair them.

Took a few weeks to resolve completely but it looked BAD. FWIW I went with a friend who partook of the same services and didn't have any issues. I never went back.

I have had this rash. I know nothing about Spa World, but I do know that the cause of this rash is unknown and has never been tied to public places, pools, or spas. This was likely a random coincidence.

Honest question - what do you do for 4 hours?

I rotate between the pools, steam room, and sauna. Maybe spend an hour there. Get a treatment: body scrub or massage. In the shared (both gender) space there are many rooms with different elements: an amethyst room, a clay room etc. Spend 10-20 minutes in each and then rest on a mat between each for 5-10 minutes. Eat or have a smoothie.

The time goes quickly at that place!

Alas I live in an area with no Korean spa to be found. If I had my druthers I’d find someone to partner with and open one, but not sure there’s enough demand here. I would be a regular customer at least!

Can you explain what you do in a clay or amethyst room? I’ve never heard of a Korean Spa. Are people just waiting to treat you in each room and if so what is the treatment? Break it down for me please.
