Ellen ruthlessly bullying Taylor Swift

I always thought Ellen came across as awkward on the opening bit of her show. It was cringy but everyone seemed to think she was hilarious and relatable. Never understood it.

Julia Roberts and Jodie Foster are examples of two highly successful people who made decisions that help them avoid the limelight. A lot of this is a choice by a celebrity and their PR team.

Taylor was about 22 in that clip. Your comparisons are way off base.

Not really. At 22, you are an adult. TS was a very rich adult by that point, and she didn't need Ellen.

Our society, and especially Hollywood, is incredibly misogynistic. Why is this surprising to anyone? Ellen became part of the system.

Taylor is not and was not some fragile flower who couldn't be razzed about anything, ever. She just didn't want that to be the whole story. She's been happy to join in on the joke about her image, her dating life, etc.
