I have given a wearable sleeping bag to a few teens in the past. It has been a big for sitting outside with friends during COVID - but also taking off to college if there is a big hang out around the fire playing corn hole culture

$50 to give to the charity of his choice (last year, my younger son gave to Apopo rats, which trains giant rodents to sniff out land mines so they can be decommissioned safely).

unfortunately i set the precedent in our house (years ago) that stocking gifts are a big deal. not big as in "expensive" but big as in "thoughtful and interesting". I have two teen girls and stocking stuffers are super easy for them. Now my son? It's almost impossible to find 5-8 small and thoughtful things for him.

How about a Starbucks gift card? Movie pass? Some cool Christmas chocolate (I always get my boys the $1000 chocolate bar bill. For nostalgia, I still put in a lego minifig.

Here's what I've got so far, much of which is going into his stocking:

A couple of books, including How to Invent Everything: A Survival Guide for the Stranded Time Traveler

a decent disposable razor and shave cream

a merino wool cap for camping

flannel PJ pants

reflective stickers for his bike

water bottle for camping

chocolate

TJ pop corn flavor packs

His big present will be a contribution to the PC he wants to build.

NP who wants to thank everyone for these great ideas - I also have a teen son who feels impossible to shop for and thanks to you all have some ideas now.

I’ll add - last year we got DS a bunch of bike gear - really strong lock, pad for seat, bike light, mini air pump for tires.

I put together a travel Dopp kit for my son. It’s not exciting but I hope he will eventually like it. I also plan to give cash in an envelope labeled gas money.

As for stocking stuffers, my older DS would be happy with about 8 tubes of original chapstick. And some reeses peanut butter cups.

There’s a cheaper massage gun on sale at Costco right now. Sharper Image brand, if that helps anyone.

What does a massage gun do?

My son loved the Jolly Jewels wash last year and thought it was hilarious.

You’re welcome.

Ball wash for your son, you are sick.

My DS - Senior in HS - asked for the manscape razor. Hi had no idea what he was talking about until I looked it up! My mom (ie Grandma) said yes all the older grandsons in their twenties and teens use them now. So, yep I ordered it and it included ball wash! Who knew!

Their grandma is talking to teens ans twenties about shaving pubes and washing balls. This guy needs to get arrested.
