If only my teen DS was as easy as my teen DD!
I have an older teen DS and the only thing he's given me is new Beats headphones. But I'll be adding gift cards for his favorite restaurants, phone charger, Tile for him to put on whatever he loses most (he'll probably lose the Tile first!), and I'm still figuring out some other items. |
| The teen girl thread has a bunch of small present ideas that are gender neutral that I'm using for my DS. Like single servng junky cereal as a stocking stuffer and the Death in Yosemite book series. |
OMG! Love that response - Senior in the house here too! ED comes out in two weeks and it’s either going to be a great Christmas or a mopey one!! |

The struggle is real for teen boys!
Encouraging the grandparents to just do cash that we'll put in his bank account. Other ideas from this year and years past: PC upgrades - gaming mouse, keyboard, graphics card (that's really expensive!), new monitor (also really expensive) expensive sneakers that I wouldn't normally buy pull up bar, weight bench (we already have a good set of dumbbells) gaming chair nice belt (I know, I have a sweatpants only kid too, but I can dream) movie tickets comfy For the stocking, I just do things like erasable pens, highlighters, shower soap, chapstick, books (again, I can dream), small gift cards to restaurants/starbucks, junk food, soda (things I don't usually keep in the house) |
| My senior wants a new laptop to take to college so I’ll get that in the spring. My new puppy is getting tons of gifts though. |
| DS17 getting pants from Nordstrom - lightweight khakis he can dress up or down, a gas gift card, Nike socks and boxer briefs from Dick's, a tie, Burberry cologne he asked for , a PS5 charging station we found for $20, random fun stuff in his stocking. Relatives will all give him money which he needs for gas. |

my 16 year old son is getting a bike because his was stolen (he left it unlocked on our porch). Usually i would not replace something he was careless about but i'm going for it because i'm grateful to have something to buy. he wants nothing else.
unfortunately i set the precedent in our house (years ago) that stocking gifts are a big deal. not big as in "expensive" but big as in "thoughtful and interesting". I have two teen girls and stocking stuffers are super easy for them. Now my son? It's almost impossible to find 5-8 small and thoughtful things for him. |
Stockings for my teen son are so difficult as well. My daughter I could fill five stockings, my son, unless I wanted to spend a thousand dollars on gift cards, I have a difficult time filling one. I end up buying a lot of crap just to fill it. |

OP here, I looked these up. Your DS is fashion-forward. |
| My teen is into power tools. |
My grandparents had a tradition of giving each grandchild a power tool or a nice tool set the Christmas that each was 16. |
|
My DS is 17 and we have bought or are considering the following:
Ugg Neumel boots (Ugg version of Chelsea boot - lots of his friends wear these) AirPods Pro Sherpa-lined flannel (about the only thing he actually requested, which must mean his friends wear these - Vans and LL Bean both have some good ones ) Sneakers Lululemon joggers/polo/tshirts Patagonia Snap T pullover (wore his old one for two years straight and needs a bigger size) Stockings are tough - it's my kids' favorite part of Christmas and traditionally they have included lots of thoughtful, fun little gifts - girls are easy with makeup, jewelry, etc. but a teen boy is hard! |
