Dentist here. Another big question is will he match for his preferred specialty? The only residency that is four years that I know of is Oral Surgery. And many of those programs are upwards of 6 years. It’s important to note that a dentist does not need to complete a residency - you can get licensed right out of dental school and start practicing. But it already sounds like that’s not on the table for him. So now the two big questions are what happens if he doesn’t get accepted to dental school, and if he does, what happens if he doesn’t match with his preferred specialty? |
