How did you choose your egg donor?

We wanted someone who seemed very happy with their life (happiness is an inheritable temperament). That was our top priority, followed by high intelligence (preferably coupled with high achievement and creativity).

Relevant to PP: Our donor graduated near the top of their class at an Ivy, but went into a creative profession that doesn't pay well, so benefited from the money; they also didn't intend to have children of their own, but liked the idea of helping another family.

The donor looks nothing like me (other than hair and eye color), but oddly, my LO looks a lot like me -- people are always telling us how much they do (without knowing about LO is donor-conceived). DH and I look nothing alike. I see LO's resemblance to DH, but everyone always says that LO looks much more like me than DH.

LO has a happy-go-lucky temperament and is very, very smart. Really adorable kid.
