What kind of appliances did you get for 1.5k? |
Assume PP reused some of the existing appliances. |
I reused the refrigerator, but new dishwasher, oven and microwave are stainless steel, all GE. It's nothing fancy obviously, but looks modern and functional. This is a reno for a basic builder grade townhouse kitchen that was 25 years old. |
Most contractors need to make X per day and don’t bother with jobs less than a certain dollar figure because it is too much trouble. So it doesn’t matter how basic your design is. They need to charge X minimum. |

You are being ripped off. Ha, ha! No, seriously, can't you tear down the wall yourself? Is it a bearing wall? |
I admire you so much! Can you tell me how and where you found cabinet installation instructions? Was there a Youtuber that was helpful? |
Kitchens by Rannes on YouTube is great. It's really not that difficult if you spend a few hours watching install videos ahead of time. You just need a little patience, and try not to get too frustrated when working through the inevitable little issues that come up. Even things that appeared to be difficult, like re-routing the plumbing, is pretty simple after you watch the videos and see how the parts go together. Remember, most of this stuff isn't like a rocketship that has very tight tolerances. I cut a piece of butcherblock for a bar and was off by a good 1/2 inch and nobody has ever noticed. Good enough is usually good enough with most of this stuff. |
Thank you so much ! Checking the videos now. |
