How much does it cost to renovate a small kitchen?

Cabinets cost ~$11k, countertops (quartz) were ~$3k, appliances (over the range microwave, gas stove, dishwasher, fridge, garbage disposal) were ~$4k. Another $3,500 for sheetrock. Some electric and plumbing work, but part of a larger reno so hard to slice out "just" the kitchen cost.

We were fortunate enough to have a family member do the install.

No backsplash yet, but estimating ~$500 for the tile.

We just did ours in back bay with $41k cabinets, $26k quartz, $29k appliances, $100k labor (we did raise ceiling) and probably $10k hardware and lighting. I don't know how much address came into play but Im jealous

Did you get to keep the slave?

Way much more than you would think.

It really depends on a lot of factors but my guess is about 650K.

If it’s a galley kitchen and don’t want to break the bank, you can probably get it done for $10k-20k.

This is unlikely unless it's a total DIY job, or you're reusing cabinets, appliances or both.

Agree. I'm doing a bathroom right now and the vanity alone is almost $10k.

If you're getting wolf, sure. But you can go to BB/HD/etc and buy a fridge, microwave, dishwasher and stove all for around $5k.

Then there's the flooring ($500-1000).

If you're getting granite countertops, that will probably be around $5k.

But that ignores OP wants to do significant surgery—that’s the only way to get more space.

When was this and where?

We just did a large galley kitchen. It was about 60K and included new floors, removing a small part of a wall, Ikea cabinets with Semihandmade fronts, new appliances, sink/faucet, countertops, backsplash, and paint/drywall work.

How much it will cost depends on which things you need done.

Where are you? Did you use a design build company or a contractor?

With careful planning, $60k

+1

It’s impossible to get accurate feedback without more detail. Namely, how big is your kitchen. Do you plan to gut and replace? Just superficial replace (get new cabinets, countertop, same floor, layout and appliances)? Are you moving the location of appliances or plumbing, or taking down walls? What level of finishes do you want? Quartz, granite, marble, quartzite? Are you asking how much the contractor charges you, or the overall project cost (ie with lights, fixtures, etc that you normally buy on your own)?

It appears a lot of people on here dont do their research. I bought my cabinets wholesale on my own cost me 7k delivered, hired a contractor for install. With appliances new floor I was under 20k 10x15 kitchen size. Gotta do your homework and not rush into hiring any contractor. Shop around and negotiate.

What area are you?
What cabinets did you get?
Your contractor had no problem installing the cabinets you bought?
Who/How did you design your kitchen plan?
Who was your contractor?
