Nope! Per Ali Wong the inverse is “Lie Down” |
| Find another job. Don't get fired especially if you are older. |
I also do not fully understand. |
Either that or the guy with 4 jobs |

OP - I got the dreaded 8:30 am “Catch-up” meeting with the big boss for Tuesday.
Monday is a work holiday. Tonight after work from 5:30 pm to 7pm I set up a boatload of sr. Mgt. status meetings over next three weeks. Plus set up a jira roadmap project with deliverables through 12-23. That was because a person I like really needs project done. If in system assigned and approved they will assign it to someone else. Monday will go back in and approve or close out some old tickets. Download a ton of stuff. Print out vacation days owed, last paychecks, RSUs. But I bet my twisted boss will leave me hanging as he may have just un quiet fired me to trump my quiet quitting. To add to madness somehow I got assigned a deadbeat in HR system I was told to fire him next week. Seems crazy but years ago I got laid off but had to lay off someone myself earlier in the day. Got to love corporate America. I rather negotiate an exit or very least allowed to resign with a few weeks notice. Maybe resign with Nov 1 last day. Extends my medical/dental coverage into month of November. Not a big ask. Only 3 weeks. I accepted my new job today with 20k raise and a small sign on bonus that already did background checks. So not too nervous on call. |
| OP quiet quitting is a corporate term describing average people giving an average performance, it's why ultimately management doesn't fire them or otherwise care. What you are describing is throwing in the towel when you know you are going to eventually be loudly fired. |
Or the guy who has two kids in college and is a landlord. |

How is it quite quitting if you already interviewing, found and signed up for a new job?
How was the Tuesday catch up mtg w ur boss? |
OP so I met with him and Bizarre. I had my notes on possible negation for severance or just maybe get whatever. Instead he starts accusing me of going native, being empathic as he thinks the report I am overdue on big time that slams another area I am not pulling trigger as I feel bad for area. I left call un-fired with more work. Even odder I am back in mix. I already started my new job and was expecting to be let go. To be fair I will work till 9 pm 1-2 nights this week give him what he wants as he paid for it. My new boss on vacation next week, but he is big on meetings and my staff is “needy” I don’t want to quiet quit on them. But tonight a job which I did like a crazy amount of interviews last summer. One of those white shoe executive retained search firms with NDAs, deep background checks ahead of time. Was 10 of us who did this crazy round of interviews like whole C team. I did three of them with Covid in my suit from home. Well I just heard I made it to final two to meet Chairman of Board and CEO. Pretty large multinational company. I may have to quit both my jobs. This one is real deal. I was going to quit one of them anyhow the week after next. I am looking forward to a single demanding somewhat in person job. Maybe my I don’t give a crap attitude is confusing people. Either way quitting old job October 24 with last day Nov 7 and hopping I get set loose. If my old boss did not un-quiet fired me I could have kept quiet quit status another few months. Still shocked not let go. I even was really unapologetic and poked the bear. Yet it seemed to make him want me more. Hey maybe will counter offer me when I try to quit! |

There is no such thing as either thing.
You were lazy. They fired you. |
OP I am not lazy at all. What happened is my Boss in Europe who has like 40 people but most in same time zone got sick then my subsidiary had huge turnover at senior level and 40 percent turnover at one point in summer. I gave up. Now it seems to be rehired and boss back. But I started new job already. Which means I don’t have time for their whims. All at once all the new people want me. I am least lazy. Right now both jobs annoying me. Can’t quit old one till after Oct 15. So after Oct 15 may resign. |
| OP is an insufferable douche bag. |
| This is why quiet quitting is stupid. Wait till you find a new job then actually quit. |
+2 I hope OP is not in communications. |
