PP here. No it’s not her. But I believe she was let go for insulting members while they were riding live. My friend told me she had a very lucrative side hustle of personal fitness/nutrition coaching that, at the time, paid more than Peloton. My friend gave me all the dirt on the instructors at that time, many of them are still there. |
I thought he was dating a non-peloton instructor but dumb either way. |
NM? |
Spill the tea! |
I think PP is referring to when JJ was fired - which was partially a misunderstanding but sounded bad when taken out of context. There was a leaderboard name referring to the user’s BMI (BMIWayOver50) and JJ was shouting out that they were doing a good job. Then she moved on to the next shoutout and said “better get on that ride! He’s not pedaling” but taken out of context it sounded like she was insulting the high BMI of the other rider. It was so bizarre that she left over that. Nicole was great also, I was sad they purged her rides! I had some bookmarked and took them many times. |
Well he’s filing a law suit .. to be continued: https://apple.news/A7EJRMsCFQo-g9d2pv1-t8g |
This should get interesting! Here is the complaint. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/23130609-peloton-suit |
Interesting..man this sort of leaves a sour taste in my mouth for a product I really love. I do hope that his bosses at Peloton did not behave in this manner, but trouble does seem to be brewing at this company. |
Wow. While his stated reasoning for not wanting a covid vaccine is silly in my opinion, Jennifer Cotter seems like a horrible person if this is all true.
Also, he's a fitness instructor with an injury requiring surgery, and she's telling him he shouldn't be able to use short term disability. What's he supposed to do? Teach with a bum arm? By definition, he could not do his job due to an injury...that's what that is for. |
Hope he wins. There’s two sides to every story of course, but the complaint puts Jen Cotter in a very bad light. |
Ugh, Jennifer Jacobs was so ridiculously hot. It was almost distracting! So bummed when she was fired lol |
So fired for unknown cause, and then held to a non-compete agreement that doesn’t let him work in the fitness industry. Interesting. I hope he wins. Non-compete clauses for fitness trainers are ridiculous. |
This is nuts. The non compete doesn’t surprise me, but I can’t believe they didn’t give him a reason if they terminated his contract “for cause.” I assume his contract spells out what would be grounds for termination. Peloton’s answer will be interesting.

The lawsuit really shows how important all the metrics are.
I wonder if more instructors will be let go in the near future, given pelotons financial issues. I always found it strange how the more recent classes, always seem to plug soooo many other classes or programs. These guys make a ton of money side hustling on social media. That non compete is garbage |
I can't believe he was making $260k a year and he wasn't even one of the star instructors. Cody must be raking it in if that's the case. I'm a huge Peloton fan and love the instructors, but Cody and Robin which are their two most popular bike instructors teach maybe 2-3 classes a week at the most. They're probably making twice what Daniel was making. . This is Peloton's main problem. Those salaries are way over inflated. |
