No personal knowledge but I read there was stuff about questionable tweets he had “liked.” I don’t have a twitter account so I can’t see that but someone can check it out. What’s strange is that it seemed like this wasn’t a new thing (?) so I wonder what precipitated it. Also seems strange bc his IG image seemed very cultivated, so why have missteps on another platform. |
PP. He "liked" a lot of anti-vaxx, anti-mask type of stuff on Twitter. I didn't see it but read that there was also an anti-trans tweet that he "liked". But that's all been going on for at least a year, so I have a hard time believing that was it. He also took a social media break earlier in the year, saying it was for mental health reasons. He did some in-person classes at the Peloton studio, which require a negative PCR or proof of vaxx, so I would have thought he'd have been vaccinated himself. Unless he lied...OOOOOH - A new theory?? |
It’s definitely something shadier than liking controversial tweets, but lots discussions online have been locked down by Reddit/FB mods. Makes it look even more sketchy IMO. |
I see it now. I wasn’t following him on Twitter. The anti-trans comment was a dad looking for a sport for his daughter that was biological girls vs biological girls to keep the playing field even. Stupid of him to “like” this stuff, but it is also old news so who knows if that was the reason. |
It’s also instagram - for example, he follows Candace Owens and you can see how many problematic posts of hers that he’s “liked”- Candace Owens is the antithesis of the peloton brand and their inclusiveness. I also bet there’s more to the story than just the social media stuff.. but I’m guessing that’s a part of it. |
You don’t care. As evidenced by the multiple replies here, many people do care. Get some self-esteem and learn to let people enjoy things. This isn’t middle school. |
I wonder if he signed a NDA. Otherwise, he has to come out and say something right? |
Chase, who I really liked BTW, made a social media post criticizing the company. No surprise he “parted ways.”
Daniel was injured and spends way too much time on social media. I suspect there is more to that story. Terrible though that some blog broke the news before Daniel or Peloton. |

what did it say? |
You’re the one acting like a high schooler with the gossiping of clown so DP. Is this a random word generator? |
I wonder if it was something else and the social media likes were brought out as the main reason to get rid of him. Seems like a very odd way to get rid of someone. His likes were from March of this year, so bit of a lag on Peloton's end! I wonder if he didn't get on with new management at Peloton? He's my favorite and I loved Chase as well, so I'm not thrilled about it, either. |
Yeah, I agree with this. Peloton only announced Daniel's departure on the Facebook group (super sus). Someone mentioned it on Reddit and the discussion was shut down as a rumor (??). Same with the main FB group. Somebody knows something and Peloton desperately doesn't want it out. |
He posted a criticism about the layoffs in the technical staff. |
I wonder if he went out on medical leave and they fired him? |
