Why are most FCPS emails not about academics

I'm looking at the most recent weekly FCPS mailing and it highlights lots of academic information, and includes other information is completely relevant to the community that supports academic achievement. It's useful and feels like it is coming from a strong public school system I swear people will get themselves worked up and form opinions without evidence:

Details:

It announces that Mosaic Elementary won a National Blue Ribbon award, which is awarded for academics--high performing schools that also close achievement gaps.
It shows the superintendents report on the opening of the schools and the state of various FCPS programs/projects (includes academics)
It announces 237 National Merit Award winners in FCPS. For academics achievement, obviously.
It encourages attendance in school and emphasizes why attendance matters (for academic success!)
It elicits community response on how ESSER funds were spent to support student success (relevant to academics)
It gives info on college and post-secondary fair week (relevant to academics)
It shares info on FCPS Career and Technical Education (relevant to academics)

The things not specifically academic, but more community/school information:

It reports on a McLean HS teacher will be on Wheel of Fortune
Reminder that school is closed for Rosh Hashanah (not academic, but important info to note the schools are closed that day).
It reminds rules for athletic/spectator events (not academics, but important community info)
It gives information on Covid Booster shots (not academics, but important community info)
It announces a fitness and health screening event for the community
Provides link to a website that keeps a registry of people who have committed sex crimes against minors to help parents protect their kids (important community info)
Provides a link to FCPS Rules and Regulations (required to regularly share that info)

Fact.

And yet anyone who posted actual details about what is in the emails shows that the original claim that they don't talk about academics is NOT a fact. But that doesn't fit with the narrative you're trying to push.

The priority is political issues. Not academic excellence.

So is anyone from the other party actually going to run a serious candidate? Someone who focuses on academics? Because the only people they ran last time were those who focused on sex ed and other wedge-issue, completely non-academic issues. I'd LOVE to see the Republicans run a serious, academically-focused candidate with some serious education chops. But they won't, they'll run two fringe nutjobs whose pet issues are gender and bathrooms, they'll get clobbered by the Dems, and nothing will change.

I want to see a slate of non partisan candidates passionate about students and education or even seem to care about students and education. Preferably moderate Democrats to take the whole partisan food fight off the table. It is ridiculous how Education has turned into Fight Club for politically obsessed Adults.

I want boring, competent moderate Democrats who focus on important academic issues including equity in academics--which is one of the most pressing academic issues in FCPS right now.

I want boring competent technocrats who stop push for equality of opportunity and drop equity as a metric because the only way to hit it is to lower the top.

The entire FCPS school board needs to be voted out of office in 2023.

Every one of them. They have done so much harm to our kids!
