Is it good enough to work? Don't cut the hand that feeds you. |
Their salary maybe? DP. |
| Since you work for DC I am assuming ethics isn't a concern. Have you considered 1) Signing up for utilities at an address and grabbing the mail or 2) forgery? |
Put m Pu I live 13 miles from work. It would not be much of a follow. I am more than happy to move and DC should provide a relocation package. I wish DC would stop this nonsense. And what if Maryland or VA did this nonsense and spouse worked in other state. Would you both have to live in different states? |
You actually think I live off that peanuts salary. I am not the breadwinner. This is just a job. Even the President is not forced to move to Dc and pay his own housing. |
| OP, please email me on HRandMore@mail.com. I can assist with what you’re looking for. |
I don’t understand. If the salary is peanuts, you aren’t the breadwinner, and you don’t need this raise, why are you taking the raise and crowdsourcing ideas on how to commit fraud in order to take the raise? Make $149,900 per year and continue on with your life. None of this seems worth it for the raise you got. |
...did you just compare yourself to the President of the United States?
|
| OP is the president? |
Exactly this. I also worked for the DC gov at a fairly high level, most of my colleagues also lived in DC, and we cared a lot because our work impacted our communities. Frankly, I don't want someone with such a callous view of the city making decisions that impact residents. |
Joe Biden - you mean the guy who asked how long is the show 60 Minutes. Yep why does he get free housing? |
Wow, some people really aren't able to distinguish fact from fiction no matter how obvious, huh? |
Republicans get fooled by Facebook posts and chain emails. Confusing "yo mamma" jokes for reality is just par for the course from the party who literally added "rejecting critical thinking" to their official party platform. |
LOL I remember when everyday the population of the city would triple between 9am and 5pm because of all the commuters from DC and VA. Neither state is obliged to pay reciprocity to DC like they do to each other. So just the opposite has been true for decades, MD and VA residents use DC services and pay zip. |
OP - I am quitting anyhow. DC did offer to pay 5k towards moving. Was told had six months to move. I have no desire to rent an address at this point. To be honest I did not work there pre-pandenic so I don’t really ever planning on going to DC. Moving is like a $100k expense. I bet you tons of folks in DC don’t even live there. All DC is doing is making housing unafordable. I was told off the record since I have six months wait till end and literally rent the cheapest apt in all of DC does not matter if shoebox as no one does a bed check. So I found a $700 a month apt. Cheapest in all of DC in some crap area and I could rent it and leave it empty. Or maybe put a “roommate” in it. To be honest it sounds like all DC is doing is removing the lowest price housing from market. Even suggests find a “share” and leave that empty. I guess I have ethics as said no thanks. DC is screwed up. I was told they only care I pay income taxes in DC. As long as I have any address and pay taxes all they care about. I would have been a great tenant |
