It's not |
This. Who cares? Virginians are lucky to have lots of decent options. |
Of course its not. The underlying score is a 55 vs a 56. Why does anyone think this is a meaningful way to distinguish between universities
|
+1. And UCLA. And Michigan. Chinese families kill to get their kids into top US flagships |
Well, of course JMU was better for music! Nevertheless, for all universities, GMU is at 137 and JMU at 151. For best public universities, GMU is 62 and JMU is 72. |
| interesting - I just met a family in my neighborhood with 2 music teachers married to each other who met at GMU |
As noted above, in the rankings they are one point apart. This difference is meaningless. Choose based on what appeals more to the student. |
Now living in a VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER. |
| Clickbait junk |
| What happened to VMI? Isn’t it better than MWC or VCU? |
Too small and specialized to register, unfortunately. |
UMBC is great for computer science! |
I don't have experience with any of these schools except 1, and I have to give a big "shout out" to William and Mary. My out of state son started there in August, and he loves it. He comments on the friendliness of the campus and smartness of the students on a regular basis. He is also really happy with the class sizes. The college application season was so difficult and nothing seemed to really fit. So, I'm really thrilled how well this has worked out. If UVA is "better" than WM; UVA must be incredible. |
No, they are not one point apart. GMU is at 137 and JMU at 151 for national universities. For USNWR public university rankings, GMU is 62 and JMU is 72. |
The actual composite scores being ranked are 55 and 56. There are a bunch of schools tied at a rank of 137 with a score of 56 and a bunch then tied at a rank of 151 with a score of 55. Focusing on rankings is ridiculous. Do you really think there is a meaningful difference in a 55 vs a 56? |
