Are you with Tom Brady or with Gisele Bundchen?

I generally dislike both of them but I'm on Team Tom here. Anyone who reaches a certain level of achievement would have difficulty retiring. Look at Michael Jordan for example. The level of competition these athletes have is almost incomprehensible to the rest of us. He probably wants to see if he can be the oldest QB to ever play. It's all about competing, at every level in every respect. If he doesn't feel like he's done, then he should play. If he quits because Gisele wants him to, that's just going to breed resentment (as it would with any couple, regardless of career-choice or HHI).

I can’t stand indecisiveness. Team Gisele. Especially given the continued CTE risk PP mentioned.

He may not be operating with a full deck.

Have you ever watched him play? The man barely gets tackled. This isn't about CTE.

Giselle gave it up.
I'm not even a fan of hers but she really is the last model who can be called a "supermodel". No one since her has even come close.

Neither.

She gave it up because she's past her prime. Models have shorter careers than athletes.

Team "they both suck." He seems INSUFFERABLE, but I haven't found anything to really like about her either. Whatever, rich people problems.

Sometimes being courageous and doing "hard work" look different than you think they do. He's in a comfortable rut and isn't willing to get out of it, and he's putting himself at risk and his family too. Paradoxically, it's kind of gutless. Figure out what you want to do next and do it. Prove that you're not one-dimensional.

I hate the retiring/unretiring dog and pony show. I hated it with Brett Favre and I hate it now. Philipp Lahm (soccer) had the right idea. He pulled the plug maybe a year too early instead of a year too late, went out on top, and has moved onto spearheading Germany's Euro 2024 hosting and other projects. We didn't have to watch him fall to pieces and embarrass himself on the field. More players should do similar.

I watched Tom Brady, in person, in the playoff game last year. He’s not going to embarrass himself.

If Gisele is worth 400 million, what does she need to do?

Being the wife of an NFL player isn’t easy, but she signed up for it.

Gisele should stop being a nag.

Gisele knew what she signed up for by marrying a pro-football player. Don't cry about it.

And he knew what he signed up for by marrying a supermodel. Typically, models' careers are even longer than pro-footballers'.
Is he complaining about her career?

I don't like either one of them, but Team Gisele all the way on this issue. He broke his promise.

They have kids, and Tom Brady has missed half their childhoods in favor of football. The kids didn’t sign up for that. They didn’t get a choice.

+1. I am an NFL fan and some years, I am in a fantasy league. The average playing time for most players in the league is 3.3 years. The odds of a CTE injury only increase each year you stay in. Players who retire/unretire are hard to root for. Maybe it is truly indecisiveness but it seems they just can't let go of the attention and adulation - they can't stand to be away from the limelight. It does take a big adjustment to retire and say coach your kids' team or be supportive while traveling with your kids for one fall and winter sports season. I admire Barry Sanders and Andrew Luck for leaving early and in their prime - they made a decision and stuck with it and left the game before it broke them, mentally and physically..

No. She could easily model into her fifties. Most athletes don’t make it to even 40.

What if I said “I’m not going to read to my kids because it’s hard?” That would be absurd, right? Parenting requires hard things of us, but we do them.

Not DP, but this isn't an apt comparison at all.
