Friendly’s restaurants

Being a waitress at Friendly's was my very first job, at the age of 14. It was hard work. I did develop an affection for the place though. Still see them occasionally in NE. I always get a Fishamajig (and used to ask for extra cheese and extra tartar sauce--a goopy, delicious mess).

I loved their old/original menu.

This is from the former Friendly's employee. I hope it does not burst your bubble..but Fribbles have NO ice cream in them.

They are made from something like ice milk ("fribble mix").

Most of their other desserts (sundaes, etc) are made from ice cream though.

I used to love getting the little sundae where they used M&M's to make a face on the ice cream scoop and a waffle cone as a hat. Does anyone remember those? That with the candy cane ice cream was my favorite as a kid!

Friendly's used to be great. They just reopened the one on Rt. 1 in Rehoboth Beach, DE. I as SHOCKED how expensive it is. For glorified fast food. Won't be going back.

We went to celebrate report cards and school awards also!

We had one near my high school in NJ and we did the same. Some of my best slice of life memories are from there. Nothing amazing or dramatic. Just hanging out, being kids, and eating ice cream.

Same! I think we need more places like this, not fewer. (They have almost disappeared from both my hometown and where I live now.)
