We went to celebrate report cards and school awards also!

We had one near my high school in NJ and we did the same. Some of my best slice of life memories are from there. Nothing amazing or dramatic. Just hanging out, being kids, and eating ice cream.

Yesssssss those were my favorite! I made the mistake of looking up how many calories are in one of those sundaes. We're talking ~2000 each. And we used to eat them after school before going home for dinner. Ah, to be a teenager again

So weird that this thread popped up, we had dinner at a Friendly’s in NJ on Thursday after dropping off my oldest at college. Besides that I think it’s been 30 years since I’ve been in one. I grew up in Bethesda and don’t remember any being around.

No, it closed a few years ago. The one in Glen Burnie is still open, I think.

There used to be one in Springfield too. We always go to one at the beach. The food isn't bad and the ice cream is fun.

This post brings back memories for me. My grandparents lived in Springfield Mass and we’d always go to Friendly's when we visited. I don’t think I’ve been to one for years but I think the chain was purchased by Hersheys (?) at some point.

We were just at the Cherry Hill Target today and talking about how nice it would be if the Friendly's were still there to get lunch.
