This is great news: women registering to vote in droves

But no data an gender gap on that question.

But it’s a simple issue. Inflation may be a more important issue for most people but no one really knows who is better on inflation issues—it’s complicated. But abortion is a bright line with people on either side of it so may sway voters who are conflicted about where to vote on their economic interests. I think Republicans have taken advantage of that for decades—getting working class people to vote against their economic issues by trumpeting these simple bright line decision points.

Furthermore, abortion and birth control are the ultimate economic issues. There’s not much that can send a family in a precarious financial position tumbling down into poverty like an unplanned child. From the medical costs of pregnancy, labor and delivery to the money a woman can’t make when she can’t work to all the costs associated with a child… people pretending that abortion and birth control is some esoteric thought experiment that has no real life effects are kidding themselves.

And look at the jump between June and July.

YAS!

PA may step to the front of the college race line if these numbers are true

The Inquirer put the PA data in a very pretty picture 🙂

Apparently yes.

So they were content with everything else trump and conservatives did just upset about abortion? Does not seem like these people will be very reliable.

There's a difference between content and motivated to go out and vote. They've been fed a line for years about how Republicans and Democrats are both equally terrible and somehow bought it mostly out of lazinesss.

Now they see the reality because of Roe V Wade. I suspect "these people" (condescending bulls---) may in fact be motivated and have gained a bit of clarity.

Call me cynical. If they are okay with Trump they are okay with RvW being overturned.

That is not the case with the R women I know. They are shocked that Roe was overturned.

I would love to listen in on a focus group of R women sometime. When Ds heard Kav and ACB during their confirmation hearings, we KNEW they were there to overturn Roe and it's exactly what they would do. I would love to hear from R women about what they actually heard and believed there. I find it astonishing that anyone could have come away thinking that Roe was safe with these two on the bench!

Republican women like to think of themselves as people and thought their party felt the same way. They bought all the lines about feminazis and all that and thought that they’d be able to choose their own lives and also serve the patriarchy. Surprise! Women aren’t people in the GOP!

My sister will still vote republicans…tax cuts, crisis at the border, etc. it is surprising how many white women vote for trump/republican.

I am not White, but I am a woman and I will certainly vote Republican. Used to vote for the Democrats and I am pro-choice. But, right now, there are a million more issues that are more important to me.

Border security, inflation, crime. The Democrats have NOTHING to offer me on any of these issues.

Maybe you have no chance of having a pregnancy. Because for most women, pregnancy is way more life changing than border security, inflation, or most crime.

What will Republicans do against inflation? The answer is nothing. The only thing they plan is to halt Social Security and Medicare.

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Or maybe she doesn't care about abortion because she like most women on the east coast and west coast still have access to safe, legal abortions. Women are going to have to fight this battle at their state level.

The last time whit women voted in Virginia, they elected Youngkin.

Florida School Board elections showed you where things are going. Miami Dade went red.

Yes, but that was tied to frustration around COVID and school closings. Those factors are not going to be at play the next time Virginia women go to the polls.

Our border is secure. Right wing pundits are always talking about how my drugs have been confiscated at the border. If they border was secure, they would not have been confiscated! Turn off fox
