Everyone’s an Instagram celebrity

Why not stop looking at social media, or any one platform such as IG, with one lens? So many people feeling so virtuous about not using it. It really is just like anything else like TV for example. You can own a TV, you can watch any number of channels or streaming services, watch whatever you want. Yeah, some channels are all cartoons, or news, or dumb shows, or movies or episodic seasons. No one's asking you to watch what you don't want! Hate sports? Don't watch sports!

There's a lot more to Instagram than shallow model types. I subscribe to a number of accts: cooking, a couple of decorating sites, a couple of political sites, a couple of personal sites geared to my interests such as a social issue I am involved with, etc., but mostly art. I paint, and I've been inspired and encouraged by a number of artists. I've also taken a LOT of free lessons. I've learned a lot and shared quite a bit, too.
I don't find much to be stupid, and if I did, I stop following. That's it. I also get to see pictures posted by my family , extended family, and some friends. I wouldn't otherwise.

Social media is what you want it to be. It's hardly one thing.

Social media and websites have just replaced magazines, and coexist with celebrity life, period. Social media didn't invent this facade, it's literally always been there. Fake bodies, faces, clothes, lives. This didn't just happen with FB and IG. Look up other stuff!
