Kim Kardashian has inspired an Instagram subculture of look-alikes from all over the world. They share Kim’s iconic features — thin noses, full lips and contoured cheekbones. But there is also this sort of emulation of personality. The vocal fry and the thousand mile stare. And there are so many young women and older women copying this same look and attitude. It already looks dated. In 15 years people will look back on this style in the same way we look at bleach blonds with bangs and acid wash jeans in the 80’s. It’s so dumb. Agree. And if I get one more DM from a “model” who wants free stuff, I’m going to burst. Sharing a bunch of selfies does not make you a model. The self-centered, self-absorbed culture is so soulless and cringy. I hope that becomes a regret too and not even more the norm.

I think this is the point OP is getting at. Not only is it annoying to see but it is having a very negative effect on younger generations who are valuing their image, how many likes they get, how many followers they have, etc over all else. It's a vapid world that leads to anxiety and depression at these young impressionable ages.

I just got back from vacation in another city and after seeing fellow tourists’ habits in and around all the attractions, I will say firmly that I effing hate people. Vapid, silly, distracted, and not living in reality. And I have an IG so I’m not anti all social media.

Op here. No I think my main point of all this is literally the style of makeup, dress, and the way women poss so seriously for these Instagram posts. They kind of stare sulking at the camera with too much cheek makeup and weird shadow eye. It’s this kind of super 2020’s Kim kardashian wannabee style that I think will look so dated in 5 years. It’s like the clothes are monotone and every sort of suburban girl in America emulates this look and serious pose and it’s stupid. I can’t explain it more. Anyone know what I mean? I’m a guy by the way.

In-person groups were more robust back then. It's a chicken and egg thing, but a very real problem in 2022.
